They paid meticulous attention to detail, communicated often and clearly with us, and the quality of their work was superior. When a structural issue was noticed in another part of the house, they mobilized their team and addressed the problem quickly and effectively. I had a very positive experience with Steven MacLeay and Sacred Oak Homes when they did a renovation of my home that included a large deck addition, screened porch, and renovation of an interior room that included plumbing and complete gutting and replacing walls, ceiling, and floor. The Construction Supervisor Michael Brex was extremely professional, talented, responsive to questions, and meticulous in the work. The estimator and Project Manager Don Voudren were also excellent to work with. It took awhile for me to settle on a design and Sacred Oak stuck with me through the design and estimating process to get to a project that was within my budget. The estimating and billing are transparent and I could clearly see the exact cost of materials and labor. I had a problem with the interior painting and when I complained, Don and Michael were very responsive and the problem was fixed in a timely and professional manner which I really appreciated. Their work is very high quality and I recommend Sacred Oak Homes to prospective clients without any reservation.

I found Steve and his crew to be exceptionally conscientious and reliable in the work they did at my house. Besides the original work I hired him for, Steve was able to recommend a few additional, highly necessary, repairs and improvements to get the job done right. Steven is more than just a general contractor - he is a multi-talented carpenter, a generous collaborator, and an artist. I first hired him several years ago to make my home more airtight and energy efficient, which he did thoroughly (no more draft!) In that process he found a gap in the frame of my house that my home had just worked around. Steven took the time to figure out how to fix it, an act of healing for which I am very grateful. Most recently, I came to Steven with the idea to redesign my large entryway, adding a half bath and an office. He worked with me, never imposing anything but helping me find the best ways to realize my ideas with the latest technologies and creative solutions. He even found some beautiful scrap hardwood to use as shelving inside the closet - a small detail that makes my home all the more special. I’ve recommended Steven to my closest friends, so I’m more than happy to spread the word - if you can get Steven, you’re in luck. He really is the tops!
