A 2025 Google customer said Same Sun of Vermont has handled their solar since late 2017, growing from a first array to three, two roof-mounted and the most recent ground-mounted, as heat pumps and two electric vehicles pushed their electricity use up. On its website the company describes itself as focused on electric vehicles and EV charging infrastructure. A 2026 Reddit commenter said they had a great experience with Same Sun out of Rutland, that it did everything, and that it was a purchase, not a lease. A vermontbiz.com headline reports Same Sun of Vermont bringing solar to WhistlePig Whiskey, and a greencarreports.com article credits it with designing a solar farm. A 2023 customer praised the panels, rack and microinverters and said the crew took the time to fasten wiring neatly under the panels to protect it from snow and ice. A 2022 customer said their large home ground-mount system was installed in New York State near the Vermont border, and named Marlene and Philip Allen as the owners. A 2022 customer described a no-pressure consultation with honest information about what type of solar system would work for them. A recent customer called the staff talented and honest. A 2024 reviewer said the company charged $150 to come out and say what a system might cost, and that the company's president was rude, kept interrupting and hung up. A 2023 customer whose system went in in 2016 said that after an optimizer failed and the warranty had expired, the company quoted $290 for two technicians for two hours of work, and that Phil was condescending after the customer's husband replaced the part himself. A 2023 reviewer called the owner condescending and rude and said other Vermont companies offer longer labor warranties.

They have been a pleasure to work with. Their staff is talented, professional, honest and passionate about what they do.
Same Sun of Vermont is terrific. Starting in late 2017 with my first array, they have been my provider of all things solar. As our electrical needs have grown, primarily switching from propane to electric heat pumps (mini-splits) and most recently to two electric vehicles, our electrical consumption has grown, and Same Sun has been right there with us to expand our generation as our needs have grown to now three arrays, two of which are roof-mounted and the most recent ground-mounted. Same Sun is a pleasure to work with -- always accommodating and very responsive. Also, unlike so many other vendors these days, they have a very stable, highly knowledgeable workforce that understands (and remembers) the specifics of my installation. I have recommended Same Sun to many of my friends, all of whom have used Same Sun and been very pleased with the results. The new plant is producing extremely well, even with the short days this time of year. I recommend Same Sun without any reservations!
The experience has been exceptional from the initial conversation through the completion of the project. Fine people, and the experience and the installation have been great.
May go solar, but won't use these guys. They charge $150 to come out and tell you what it may cost. After being transferred to "somebody tht has a better grasp on the numbers". It turned out to be the president of the company. I was completely dumbfounded by how rude he was. He kept interrupting me and told me that when he was finished I could talk. He informed me that not going solar was an "economic losers bet" He stated that it was the right thing to do environmentally and that anybody who cares about the environment would go solar regardless. I mentioned concerns about the environmental impact when they are no longer working and articles from multiple national news sources about panels in California ending in the landfill and how they are trying to combat that. He interrupted again and told me all of those were false articles and that there are not thousands of panels that have been decommissioned and do I want to move forward or not. I stated that after talking with him I have less interest than before and his response was "then I have less interest in talking to you" and hung up. I may still go solar but I would bever use his company!
I'm very happywith our solar installation. The panels, rack, and microinverters were all of superior quality. The crew was courteous, efficient, and communciative. My wife works from home so communicating power shut offs and working as quietly as possible were important. The crew was also detail-oriented and took the time to fasten wiring neatly under the panels to protect them from snow/ice and hide conduit as much as possible. I anticipate working with Same Sun on another project in the near future.
