Seacoast Waterproofing describes itself on Angi as a wet-basement repair company serving all of New England, including New York and New Jersey. A 2005 customer said the basement sealing was done well and the basement had not leaked since, but that a promised written transferable warranty had still not arrived after more than three months and four to five calls. A 2004 customer said the job was timely and clean and the basement was dry. A 2004 customer said the basement foundation was waterproofed and a cement walkway broken up, with some chunks of cement left behind. A 2005 customer said the drainage pipe was laid over the top of the lawn, the water inside it froze during the winter and the sump-pump hose disconnected, and that three calls over a period of weeks were never returned. A 2004 customer said the vapor barrier was torn and poorly attached, some basement walls were left without vapor wrap, and there were no check valves on the sump drains. A 2004 customer said the balance was paid while work was still unfinished, including a pipe not connected to the pump, no check valve on the pump and no battery backup system. A 2004 customer said the sump pump was hooked up to the sewer system, which that customer said is not legal, and that the system leaked. A 2004 customer said an exterior french drain install left a mess, damaged property and a large pile of gravel in front of the house. A 2004 customer said the workmen arrived four hours late and the job stretched from one day to two, though that customer said they did a good job.
SeaCoast Waterproofing did a fine job inside, a sub-standard job outside. Because they merely laid the drainage pipe over the top of the lawn (unacceptable in itself), the water inside it froze during the winter. This caused the sump-pump hose to disconnect from the sump-pump. I called them three times over a period of weeks to talk about fixing the problem. THEY NEVER EVEN RETURNED MY CALLS. A friend of mine, who also had work done with them also needed them to give them a follow-up call. They also never returned his calls.
I would like follow up from this please I had the sealing of my basement on 11/11/04, I have inquired about the written transferable warranty and have not recieved it yet. The work was done well and the basement has not leaked since the sealing has been done. However I would not recommend this company based on their poor follow up, poor communication and there inability to return a call or follow up on there contract. Bill Waldron stated I would receive the warranty within 2 weeks. It has been over three months and four to five calls and I have not received said warranty.
I had an exterior french drain installed and will not know whether or not the job was successful until the spring. That being said, Seacoast was supposed to leave my property graded as they found it. Instead, they made a total mess, damaged some of my property and left a large pile of gravel in front of my house. At first I was told that everything would be taken care of right away. When nothing happened, I tried several times to contact the company, but got no response. The workmen that were sent were obviously disgruntled and could have cared less about their work. It seemed as though they were going out of their way to distroy my property to show their displeasure with Seacoast, and were very inexperienced operating the equipment. I'll be surprised if the their job was successful.
Foundation, Basement or Crawlspace - Waterproofing / Encapsulationwe have not had the work done yet, I am just evaluating our first contact with the sales rep
The job was started late even though they knew I was taking the morning off from work to be there to meet them (I am assisting an 82 year old woman who lives across the street from me). They told her they were done and she gave them the check for the balance (she uses a walker and could not check). The sales rep for Seacoast - Bill Waldren - agreed on the telephone to send the crew back five days ago (today is 7/9) to complete the work. Work yet to be completed is as follows: ADS pipe not connected to pump, no check valve on pump, battery backup system was not intalled, the floor was left soaking wet(puddles)and the paint has not blistered on the floor, the temporary furring strips were not removed, and a Rigid brand pump was installed instead of a Zoeller. All of these things are in violation of the contract. The 82 year old woman has been violated and she is not sleeping well because of this mess. Bill Waldren is aware of her condiditon, but he will not return my once daily calls. This company is unreliable and not worthy of ServiceMagic's excellent reputation for making professional referals.Show
