Sebago Lake Pools says it specializes in in-ground fiberglass pool construction, plus openings and closings, ongoing maintenance and repair, including vinyl liner replacement. Its BBB profile describes a company that sells and installs inground and above ground pools and hot tubs, established and incorporated in Maine in 1992, with Stephen Richard as president. The BBB grades it A+. A recent customer paid for a pool opening and four weeks of biweekly pool service, said the pool stayed green and unusable the entire time, and said the company refused a partial refund for the last two weeks. A recent customer with pool and pump problems said that because the company was short-handed, no one who knew anything could come out for several weeks. A recent customer described a pool install that started with earthwork by Dennis and changed from a semi in-ground to a full in-ground pool, and said Chris honored the original upgrade pricing many months later. That customer said the company did the ground work for the pool, a concrete patio and a retaining wall, built a road into the area, and stayed on the price quoted even with some complexities. The customer also said the company does their pool opening and closing. A 2025 customer said the crew at Sebago Pools stuck with a tough install and got it done. A 2024 customer said Brian showed up late to complete a pool closure and drilled new grommets to better hold the winter cover, because the old ones were broken and falling from the cement.
We are having problems with our pool And pump and because they are short handed no one who knows anything can come out for several weeks because the one guy still working is booked up installing new pools. The staff is very nice but not helpful. It’s as if the manufacturers of their products need to come and train them. Not happy.
Paid for pool opening followed by 4 weeks of biweekly pool service starting June 12, 2026 — pool remained green and unusable the entire time. Switched to a new company just this Monday for a fraction of the cost and they resolved the issue in a single visit (see images). In fact, the person that came out was not convinced the pool was even being treated. I requested a partial refund for the last two weeks of "service", which I feel is more than fair. They have refused. I would not recommend this business in any capacity.
It's been about 3 years since we first contacted Sebago Lake Pools and signed a contract. Chris was very forthcoming that it would be a little bit before starting since we were I recall 7-8 on the install list for that year. Sept. 23' Dennis came to begin the earthwork which was very exciting. Along the way we made some changes to the install going from a semi in-ground to full in-ground, which I had had Chris quote at the beginning but opted for the semi at the time. To my surprise Chris honored the original upgrade pricing even many months later. So glad we did because the project came out incredible. I have been in excavation my entire life so I know jobs of this size don't come with hiccups, and mine did. The key was everyone involved starting with Chris was great about resolving them. The cold set in so the pool was not able to be fully completed until early spring 24'. As Chris and his crew knows I am an incredible fussy guy for it getting done right but I can honestly say Chris, Dennis, Mark, and Joey were all incredible men and glad I have become acquaintances of them all. I still on a regular basis stop into their office for supplies and testing. Tim is always eager to teach me and walk me through how to do water quality maintenance. They do the opening and closing for me which is alway peace of mind. As I side not we have the heat pump water heater which I do really like and if you just set it and forget it it does not use tons of money to keep us at 85-87 degrees. Solar cover is a must outside of the heat of summer to maintain the temp and not waste power. Anyway, I am very happy to be writing this review years later to them. Our pool is on the video and I've always told them they are welcome to show ours to clients. They did the ground work for the pool, concrete patio, retaining wall on the back side, and built a road to get into the area (I did all the final site work, fencing, block patio, gazebo, and shed myself) and they stayed 100% on the price quoted even with some complexities that arose. Plus have stood by some of the nit picky things I have brought up, again very happy with these guys. All of them!! FYI, the stairs are not an inexpensive option but if you want your dogs to enjoy the pool like we do, they are a must!! Plus make getting in and out so nice, worth the $$ pain totally.
My pool was a tough install but the crew at Sebago Pools stuck with it and got it done! Good communication, and good follow through! Thank you!
We were told that our scheduled visit would have to be resheduled due to a family emergency, and rescheduled to the middle of the month after cleaning the pool and preparing for its closure during the leave dropping part of the season. Brian, who has always done exceptional work, showed up late to complete the closure with extra work drilling new grommets to better hold the winter cover. The old ones were broken and falling from the cement. As always, we are very impressed with our service at Sebago Pools and would recommend them for their expert services!
