Selvin Masonry & Gardening builds stone walls, patios, walkways and steps, and also does planting and garden work. The company says it has been in business for 20 years. A recent customer said Selvin and his crew removed a rotted railroad tie retaining wall and replaced it with a stacked stone wall, then replaced an old brick patio with a Cambridge paver patio that included a 7'x7' concrete pad for a new tub. A recent customer said Selvin laid a bluestone sidewalk with gentle curves across their front yard and planted grass to work it into the yard. A recent customer said Selvin built a new paver walkway and patio for them in 2 days. A recent customer said Selvin installed two new walkways and a patio with a fire pit. A 2024 customer said Selvin and his team built a retaining wall from natural stone found on their property, removed and disposed of the old railroad ties and salvaged plants. A 2024 customer said the team redid the barrier around a basement window where they were having flooding, building a new retaining wall and trenching a drain from the gutter runoff away from the house. A 2024 customer said the company repaired their fireplace inside and outside. A 2023 customer said Selvin made a fireplace mantle from fieldstone found on their property, redid their chimney in fieldstone, and restored an 18th century stone wall. A 2024 customer said Selvin used an overly wet load of cement the supplier delivered for half of a job, leaving one big crack where the two pours meet; the cement company agreed to seal the job for free.
