A 2025 customer who had to replace garage doors during an exterior refresh said Paul and Shelley brought samples, gave addresses of doors they had installed to drive by, and called manufacturers about features. A 2025 customer said a technician arrived in two hours and the job was done that same day. A 2025 customer said they fixed a garage door that jammed just before a vacation and called the next day to check that everything was ok. A 2024 customer said they showed what the door needed in spring adjustment and completed that service quickly. A 2026 customer who called about replacing garage door springs was told $300 to $600 over the phone, then quoted $650 per spring plus $350 labor by a technician the customer found out was an independent contractor; the price dropped to $500 after the customer said no. The 2026 customer paid $450 for two springs and one cable, and wrote that the left side of the door no longer closed all the way the next time it was used and that one of the springs is already rusted.
Do not use this company under any circumstances. My experience was nothing short of a complete scam. I called for an estimate to replace my garage door springs and was told over the phone that it would cost between $300 and $600. Since I use the white color-coded springs—which cost about $21 a pair at Home Depot—I expected my total to be closer to the lower end of that range. When the technician arrived, I found out he was actually an independent contractor, not even a direct company employee. After a quick look, he told me the job would cost $650 per spring plus $350 labor. That’s right, $1,650 for a basic spring replacement. When I obviously said no, he suddenly dropped the price to $500 as if he were doing me some huge favor. That alone should have been my signal to send him away immediately. Unfortunately, I didn’t want to waste more time finding another company, so I let him continue. While attaching the new spring to my old cable, he realized the cable had snapped. At that point, instead of adjusting the cost fairly, he tried to charge $500 just to replace the cable, without even including the springs. Completely ridiculous. Eventually, I agreed to pay $450 for two springs and one cable, which I regret. The second cable was not replaced and will likely fail soon, meaning I may be dealing with this all over again. The workmanship was just as bad as the pricing. He never used any lubricant, which should be standard practice. The garage door closed properly while he was there, but the very next time I used it, the left side no longer closed all the way. Even worse, the “new” springs he installed do not appear new at all—one of them is already rusted. This company relies on bait-and-switch pricing, questionable contractors, and poor-quality work. Save yourself the stress, the money, and the frustration—hire literally anyone else.
Our garage door started drifting unevenly and felt unsafe. Shelton Garage Door Center adjusted the system and reinforced a few components. The movement is smooth now and much quieter.
Terrific service. Technician arrived in two hours and we were all done that same day! Quality work and amazing customer service. Highly recommended. Jonny was incredibly professional and courteous!
Exceptional service! Work is neat, professional, and of high quality. I'm very satisfied with my new high tech garage door opener.
If you find someone better use them. You won’t. Knowledgeable, trustworthy, prompt, reasonable and communicative. From booking, to installation, to follow up, Paul and Shelley are the best around!
