We plan on using them again for future projects. Can't believe how quickly he completed the project. Cabinets are solid as a rock. He was very professional, kept us informed of changes needed to fit our appliances. The price was perfect GREAT COMPANY.

I hired SJ renovations for a renovation of my house. The work involved adding new siding for the house, replacing all windows of the house, replacing exterior doors, reframing of the porch, adding support posts in the basement, closing all holes in basement, replacing a wall in the basement and adding insulation in basement. This was a major project costing more than $67,000. He had told me that he does not have any previous experience with major projects, and yet wanted this project. Seeing his enthusiasm to do the work, I hired him purely on trust and thought that he will do a good job and cooperate well. However, my experience was not as good as I was expecting. He could not manage the project well. He took more than a month extra time to complete the project. He ignored what should be done first. Even after requesting him several times to do the support post in the basement and complete the basement work first before doing anything else, he partly ignored it. I had requested him to finish the storm water work to avoid water leaking into the basement early enough, but he ignored it. Later on when he is ready to do the storm water work, the winter was set in and ground was frozen and could not do it. He had to replace a few special circular glass windows in the attic and he hired someone too late to do that. That delayed the project. In brief, he lacks skills to manage bigger projects. His quality of work is just average. Finishing work is not as good as expected. He also attempts to get extra money by saying some of the work is not included in the in the contract, even though the written contract does not say that. He tries to get extra money for materials in the middle of the project and after accepting almost 50% deposit by saying that his estimate of materials before signing the contract was not correct. He also tries to get milestone based payments much before the milestone is competed. As per the contract, I was supposed to pay for dumpster as per actual invoice. But, he does not care whether the dumpsters are collected on time to avoid extra day charges. He does not care what the dumpster company invoices as he knows he can pass the invoice on to me regardless of what it is. I also found that it is just him in his company, not good enough for larger projects. So, in general, I found him not suitable yet to entrust with larger projects. In my opinion, until he gets more experience and skills, he may be good for small projects where the risk is low and where he can be monitored well.

SJ Renovations did an excellent job in our company's office. We had multiple rooms painted, floating shelves hung, holes repaired, and a dry erase board painted onto a large wall, everything came out better than we had hoped. I highly would recommend them for work you need done!

From the beginning, Shane was professional and knowledgeable. His quote was very quick and we ended up hiring him. He rebuilt the back stairs and replaced our skirting on our farmers porch.
