One customer said the owner, Seth, responded within an hour, was at the house a few hours later and gave a fair price. That customer said two trees came down in 3 hours, fiber mats went down for the bucket truck and there was no damage to the lawn; the stump grinding crew ground both stumps the next day. A customer who had 17 trees removed, some hanging over the house, said they pulled stumps that needed to come out and ground down others. That customer also said they removed a squirrel's nest from the chimney cap, cleaned the cap and reinstalled it. A customer said a tree fell on their girlfriend's roof on a Sunday and SKJ came out first thing Monday morning to remove it. A customer said Seth helped get the top half of a tree off the house roof and the roof was in great condition afterwards. A customer wrote that they had called Seth back for more work at least three times. A 2026 customer said SKJ came out the same day for a free estimate and was the most reasonably priced of 5 quotes; that 2026 customer had 50 trees removed between their house and a neighbor's. A 2025 reviewer with a very tall oak leaning over a roof, patio and fence said Seth explained what it would take to get the tree down safely, a crane included. A recent customer said the crew damaged their retaining wall and left a mess in the yard, and that the company was reported to Connecticut Consumer Protection and the BBB. A 2024 reviewer whose neighbor hired SKJ said they left a mess of oil stains and tore up a large section of the reviewer's lawn by parking their trucks on the grass. In an update, that 2024 reviewer said SKJ came to clean the oil stains and scrubbed and power washed some of them, with the rest still visible.
