A recent customer had Smith Family Tree Service take down a dozen large trees, several of them dead, severely damaged at the base or at risk of snapping onto a fence or power lines, and said all the limbs were ground into wood chips for the flower beds. The company says on its website that it has been in business for 40 years and starts every project with a consultation. On Google it holds 4.6 stars from 17 ratings. A 2020 customer wrote that after a storm sent a tree crashing onto their deck and house, Dale, the owner, came to estimate the job that afternoon, cleared debris off the deck, and returned with his crew to finish cutting the tree; the wood, branches and sawdust were hauled away. A 2020 customer from Madison, New Hampshire, wrote that the company cleared hillside land for an uphill driveway over 700 feet long, utilities and a planned building site. A 2022 customer who called on a certified arborist's advice had one tree and its stump removed and a large tree shared with a neighbor trimmed, after the company suggested waiting until spring to trim another tree. A 2023 customer praised Dale, Jess and the crew after dozens of trees, including pines and hemlocks, came down to widen the property, and said they got the entire estimate in writing. A 2024 customer said they took down 15 pines and ground most of the stumps. A 2025 customer said Dale and his men took care of the job, cleaned up and were gone in 3 hours. A 2025 customer who hired the company to grind some stumps said they were left bumpy and never leveled out, that it did not show up when it said it would, and that multiple phone messages were never returned.
