Verified record
SolarFlair Energy is a Medway-based solar installer that has been putting up PV systems across Massachusetts since 2007. The BBB records it as an S corporation with 42 employees, president Jeff Constantine and controller Pamela Faustine, and grades it A+ while stating plainly that it is not BBB accredited. Massachusetts electrician licence 4235 is registry-verified active and the registry's holder of record is SOLARFLAIR ENERGY INC — the company itself. It does more than sell new arrays. Its own service menu is built around systems already on roofs: upgrades to newer equipment, warranty replacements, battery and EV-charger add-ons, critter guards, snow guards, SREC paperwork and coordinating a solar array around a roof replacement. That shows up in the reviews. In February 2025 a customer described a technician named Jeff climbing onto the roof to clear squirrel debris out of the panels that was interfering with the solar meter. In July 2025 a repeat customer did their SECOND project with the company, replacing their original array after a new roof, and named Pamela, Bobby and Jeff on the team. A 2022 reviewer who had used them on a Town of Arlington program install back in 2014 said the winter installation went well, that the company helped them through historic review, and that when a bracket caused a small leak years later the service team came promptly. The company has also done municipal-program work: it was selected with New England Solar Hot Water as an installer for the Wayland, Lincoln and Sudbury Solarize Mass Plus program in 2017, and trade press covered it turning on a 1.1 megawatt array for a Westborough waste hauler. The complaints are few but they are recent and they are specific, and both concern how the company handles a system after installation. In July 2026 a customer wrote that installers 'walked directly on the solar panels' and dropped heavy tools on them in violation of the manufacturer's installation manual, said the company took no accountability, and has since moved to a different installer. In 2023 another customer said output dropped in August, the company came in November and disconnected the system without explaining why, and only months later identified critter damage, quoted extensive repairs without a timeline, and offered no protection against a recurrence. So: a long-established, properly licensed local installer with a stable named staff and real municipal-program credentials, whose weak point in the written record is the service side — what happens when something goes wrong years after the install. Ask specifically about the crew's panel-handling protocol, what the critter-guard product covers, and what response time is contracted for a fault call.
“I'm in Mass and right now I'm debating between Solar Flair and Mass Renewables. Both are at $3.35/W so it just comes down to time frame.”
“Clean energy company SolarFlair Energy Inc. of Ashland has formed a partnership with Woburn’s Boston Solar, aimed at helping both companies grow their residential and commercial solar installations, the pair announced on Wednesday.”
“SolarFlair Energy, Inc. and New England Solar Hot Water have been selected as the installers for Wayland, Lincoln and Sudbury’s Solarize Mass Plus 2017.”
“Last month, SolarFlair Energy, Inc. of Ashland turned on the solar system at E.L. Harve”
If you want an installer that respects manufacturer guidelines and protects your investment, look elsewhere. During a recent job, SolarFlair’s installers walked directly on the solar panels (see attached photos) and dropped heavy tools on them. The manufacturer's installation manual explicitly forbids this because it degrades panel lifespan and performance over time. When I brought this violation to SolarFlair’s attention, they took zero accountability for their crew's careless handling of our system. We have since cut all ties with SolarFlair and contracted a new installer to maintain our system. Since SolarFlair often replies to their reviews with deflections claiming that it's somehow the *customer* who is at fault, I’m guessing they may try to do the same here… I realize that can make it hard for potential customers to know who to trust. So if you are considering working with SolarFlair, I'd recommend you ask yourself the following question: with so many reputable solar companies out there, why risk your property with a company that has treated other people's expensive equipment with this level of disregard?
Very responsive and helpful. Good service. Thanks.
We just did our second solar project with SolarFlair, after having decided to replace our original system after installing a new roof. The team worked closely with us throughout the project, providing clear communication, a detailed solution design, and demonstrating great attention to detail. We enjoyed working closely with Pamela, Bobby, and Jeff and highly recommend them to anyone considering adding solar to their home!
We had the pleasure of working with Rachel, Project Coordinator at SolarFlair. She was professional, informed, knowledgeable and when needed did the research to find answers to our panel issues in a very timely manner. It was clear that she was genuinely invested in her role and resolving her clients' needs. Much appreciated Rachel!
From initial contact and quoting through the installation and follow up, SolarFlair provides excellent service and support. They make what could be a complicated process easy. I highly recommend SolarFlair to anyone seeking a home solar system.
