When a Wayland homeowner compared four solar companies in January 2024 — three of them recommended by the town's solar coach — East Coast Solar won by proposing the least: the fewest panels, at the lowest cost. That restraint turns up again in February 2026, when a customer described no pressure to buy at all, just dates and expectations spelled out and then kept. Mike Logan founded the company in Worcester and still runs it; the site says it is six-plus years in with more than five megawatts installed. Matt Honkonen handles business development, and customers name both — a July 2026 customer picked them after Matt laid out a design sized to take heat pumps and an EV charger later on. The company's Massachusetts electrician license is active in its own name. The installs are not all straightforward. In December 2025 a homeowner with a metal shingle roof says East Coast was the only company willing to take it on, and coordinated directly with the shingle installer so both crews worked the roof together. A system installed over summer 2023 spanned multiple roof surfaces. A July 2023 job ran past thirty panels, and an August 2023 garage array came with several designs to choose between for looks, with the building department handled along the way. People living with the systems talk about output. An October 2022 customer says production came in line with the projections; a November 2023 customer watches it on the app; and a November 2022 reviewer was writing about a system installed back in July 2020. One note comes from inside an otherwise glowing review: a January 2026 customer says onboarding was rocky, with too many people on both sides unclear about what was happening, until Chris came onto the team and took it over. If you want a small installer who will size the array to what your house actually needs — and who will take on an awkward roof rather than walk away — this is a strong call between Worcester and Boston. Ask who your single point of contact will be from contract through commissioning.

Mike, Matt and the whole team at East Coast Solar were absolutely stellar through the whole process. We chose them based on their integrity- Matt took his time explaining the process, offering us a design that would work as we added more to our house (like heat pumps and an EV charger). Mike and the team ran an install that was quick, thorough and detail-oriented. Mike was on site much of the time and so down to earth- we spent 15 mins chatting during pre-work inspection before I realized he was Mike, the owner and not just a really nice employee! Everything works (and looks!) great. And year and half later, we are running both those heat pumps and a the EV charger and still banking extra solar on our National Grid account this summer. If I could give 10 stars, I would. Honestly. We have had zero issues but I know that if anything comes up, we can reach out the owner Mike and be taken care of right away. This company is old school quality, care and service with new school projects. Call them.

Our onboarding with East Coast Energy LLC was a bit rocky. There were too many people on both their side and mine that didn't know what was going on and kept getting in the way. Once Chris joined the team, not only was the introduction he gave me so warm and professional, but truly genuine in his promise for professional and successful teamwork. Once we connected, we were on track to get a lot accomplished and fill the holes pending. He has gone above and beyond either answering my questions or getting the answers to my questions beyond the expectation. I am really glad Chris joined this team, and I personally am so luck to work closely with him.
