Sophie Bignet Landscape Design LLC

Sophie is a knowledgeable, no-nonsense, roll up her sleeves landscape designer. She does less talk and focuses well on the work. Desiring to convert a backyard of failing grass to a patio surrounded by plantings, we hired her after failed attempts with another "designer," and she got exactly what we were looking for. After collaborating with us about what we like and don't like, she put together a good plan, estimate and design that met our desires. She listened and executed. And when the time came she brought in a planting crew and directed them beautifully with where to plant everything. She gave us good care instructions, checked in and stopped by every once in a while to check the plantings, and came back with a second phase proposal on time and as promised. Pricing was comensurate with the task, and we believe we got received good value for money spent. Which is why we trust her and continue to use her through the next phases. She knows what she's doing and she executes!

We loved having Sophie design our garden and oversee its installation. She choose a wide number of shrubs, trees, flowers and ground cover which seem so naturally integrated into the landscape. Sophie is a great listener and didn't put in anything we didn't like and worked in a very professional/cooperative, light and humorous manner.Even our dogs love her! We are so lucky to have found her and look forward to watching our garden evolve with Sophie's help.

Sophie and I have worked together now for 4 seasons- 2 spring and 2 fall installations at my house. She designed my front side and back garden. I know a lot about plants, but don't have that vision, the artist's eye that Sophie has. Together we created a beautiful, natural, mostly native garden that I love to work in and experience daily. After removing huge swathes of lawn, Sophie's plant placement was so much more fresh, original than I would have done. Asymmetrical, but with intention. Her ideas for my new peastone back patio I never would of shaped as she imagined, and it's perfect. On top of this, she is a massively strong hard worker with a twinkle in her eye and an easy smile- a joy to work with. We had so much fun creating something that will last longer than my lifetime. I am not done yet with Sophie, and so glad to have such an incredible resource who also happens to be a beautiful human being.

Sophie Bignet is an expert garden designer and a joy to work with. She took the time to understand my aesthetic, then redesigned my front-yard and back-yard gardens by reshaping them and adding 3-season texture and color with new shrubs, perennials, bulbs, and grasses. She also creatively designed portico and patio planters, which looked gorgeous all season. Sophie has great vision for not only how gardens will look when newly planted, but how they will grow and fill in over time. I am impressed by her extensive horticultural knowledge — she really knows her plants! She also is good about providing garden lay-outs, plant choices, and working within budgetary constraints.
