A huge elm taken down by two men, the brush shredded and the cut wood stacked in a pile: that is how one customer described Spicer Tree's work in a March 2023 Google review, adding that the stump was left as low to the ground as possible. Spicer Tree, at 373 Hunts Meadow Rd in Whitefield, says it has been in business 28 years and lists tree removal, tree and shrub pruning, browntail moth treatments, shoreland zoning and storm damage cleanup among its services. It holds a 4.4-star average across 23 Google ratings. In a February 2023 review, a Wiscasset homeowner wrote that Ryan's crew pruned a giant horse chestnut tree from a lift, asked whether they wanted more taken off before shutting the lift down, and cleaned up the branches and twigs. That reviewer said they chose Spicer on a few recommendations from neighbors and because he is an arborist. In a December 2021 review, a customer said Ryan and crew removed 12 buckthorn trees, several dead trees, blow downs and a couple of brush piles, stayed with the quote and handled last-minute add-on work. In a September 2025 review, a customer who had just bought a home in China wrote that they took several quotes, that Ryan listened to their questions and explained what needed to be done, and that his crew cleaned up completely after the job. A March 2023 reviewer described Ryan as very responsive to questions and phone calls.
“Whitefield resident David Spicer, a professional arborist and landscaper, and owner of Spicer Tree Specialists, is coordinating the plantings.”
So happy with the exceptional work done by Pinnacle Tree. We had a lot of long overdue trimming and removal to be done and these guys were top notch. Greg's assessment was thorough and informative. Damien and crew were professional, efficient and cleaned everything up beautifully. Will definitely be calling them again in the future.
We recently bought a home in China. Not knowing who to call, we took several quotes. After just a few minutes of talking with Ryan, it was obvious to me that he was listening to my questions and concerns. He explained what needed to be done in a simple and intelligent way. His crew was quick and efficient with complete clean up after the job. We could not be more happy and will definitely use Ryan and his crew in the future.
Ryan was very responsive to my questions and phone calls. Extremely pleasant to work with.
Huge Elm tree removed on our property. Two men worked. Brush was cleaned up and shredded, cut wood was stacked in a pile, stump was left as low to the ground as possible. Very satisfied with the work. Quickly done.
Ryan and the team were great! They were efficient and thorough. His guys made quick work of pruning a giant horse chestnut tree at our home in Wiscasset. They even asked if I wanted to take more off before they shut down the lift, which was nice. They also cleaned up the branches and twigs extremely well...so well that you'd never guess the tree had been pruned at all earlier that day. I felt more comfortable using Spicer because of a few recs from neighbors and also because he is an arborist. We plan to use them for any tree-related issues in the future. Happy to have found them!
