Spillane's Nursery and Landscape has run out of 182 Plymouth Street in Middleboro since Tim Spillane started it as a small seasonal retail yard; the company's own site dates that to 1978, though the Better Business Bureau's file puts the start in 1983. Either way, it has grown into a full-service outfit spanning landscape design and construction, maintenance, hardscapes, irrigation, snow and ice management, and its original nursery and garden center. On Google, a 4.8-star average across a dozen ratings backs that up. A 2025 review calls the nursery 'beautiful' with 'such a variety' and says the owners are knowledgeable and nice; a more recent one, from August 2026, simply calls it 'one of my favorite' spots. A former maintenance division manager and another employee who left in 2024 both describe their time there in positive terms — 'a privilege to work' there, one wrote. The Better Business Bureau lists the company at an A+ grade, though it has not sought BBB accreditation. Procore's contractor network separately shows a larger operation, with 51 to 100 employees working commercial and residential landscape, design and wetlands projects. For a homeowner, this looks like an established, multi-division company better suited to bigger landscape installations and ongoing maintenance contracts than a one-off small job — worth asking directly about current crew availability and lead times for residential work.
