SST Painting & Carpentry LLC

Eight days from the phone call to a finished, hand-painted house: that is how one June 2023 Google reviewer described hiring SST Painting & Carpentry, after other painters quoted a week's wait just for an estimate. This Bridgeport, CT painting and carpentry outfit holds 4.8 stars from 55 Google ratings, and Iris is the name customers mention again and again. The recent work is a mix of painting and repairs. A September 2026 customer said the painting was on time at a reasonable price and that Iris, the head of the project, kept them updated. A May 2026 customer had a deck repaired and painted and a front door refinished; another that month had the whole exterior of a house and garage painted and said the crew kept the areas clean; a third had drywall repaired quickly. An April 2026 reviewer who had worked with Iris twice called the price eminently reasonable. The older reviews run wider. In 2024 customers described a portico built and a bay-window roof replaced, an old deck replaced with Trex, hardwood floors refinished in the three days the estimate said, and two leaking toilets replaced in a Wolcott fixer-upper. A September 2023 reviewer with a 123-year-old Victorian said Iris walked the job with them at the end and redid one spot they were unsure of. Two one-star reviews describe a different experience. In May 2026 a homeowner who did not go ahead with a flooring job called the estimate hasty and vague, with no mention of materials, waste disposal or number of coats, and said an updated estimate had not arrived after four days. In November 2023 a customer said the crew were handymen taking on professional work, including a plumbing job they could not do.
