The company says it has been in business 72 years and names Augusta, Skowhegan, Madison, Farmington, Gardiner and Winslow among the towns it serves. In a recent Google review, a customer wrote that "the two guys who came by" were on time and quick with "pumping the tank & checking the pump out," and that it came out much cheaper than expected. A 2025 customer wrote that when the septic was dug up, they were told there was another lid or two, one with a filter that needed to be cleaned out. A 2024 customer wrote that with a clogged septic system filling the bathtubs and toilets, Stanley's was there within an hour and a half and got things up and running again. A 2024 customer wrote that very good care was taken in removing the old septic pump and installing a new one. A 2024 customer wrote that a septic pumping was scheduled on Monday for Thursday and that Stanley's beat the price of the many places they called. A recent customer in Oakland wrote that after weeks of waiting for an appointment, the driver at first could not find the tank; when he came back, he emptied it, left the hole unfilled and said he would be back in a few days. That customer wrote that a month later they had not heard from anyone. A recent caller asking about a new septic lid wrote that the receptionist said to take the business to Gagne & Sons. A 2025 reviewer wrote that in 2019, whoever picked up the phone at Stanley's told the reviewer's wife they would only speak to her husband, then hung up on her. A 2022 customer wrote of calling for months, being put on the schedule about two months out, and then no one showing up on the appointment day.
My home in Oakland has had septic service by Stanley's since prior to my ownership.They installed the tank.I am widowed and not really familiar with such things.I will cut to the chase,after waiting for weeks for the appointment,they showed up to take care of the tank.I had asked if I needed to be there and I was told I did not.When I returned later that day I received a call saying the driver couldn't find the tank.I did not know what to say.When he came back,he eventually emptied the tank but said I needed to have a certain item installed so that it could be easily located.He left the hole unfilled and said he would be back in a few days.A month later I had not heard from anyone.Yesterday I called to inquire about it. The receptionist said she would have to find out.About an hour later she said they could stop by later in the week.That did not help because I wanted to be able to discuss what it was that I would be purchasing.I requested that the person who would be doing the job give me a call. So far I have not heard from anyone.I cannot describe what a headache this has been.I will have to consider my options going forward if I am not satisfied.
Awesome service from the two guys who came by! On time, super quick work with pumping the tank & checking the pump out, informative about the system. Answered any questions I had as well. Honestly it came out to be much cheaper than I was expecting, too! Will do business with again in the future! Thank you!
Extremely rude receptionist. I called to inquire about a new septic lid and she told me to take my business to Gagne & Sons because “I can do it myself for the same price they would do it.” So needless to say, I can only assume they don’t want business no matter how small the job.
I cannot thank you enough for helping my daughter which helps my grand babies! We thought this was beyond help ....not only were we given hope BUT Josh was very understanding and willing to help! I'm very happy with the service we received from them today. My other septic company that I used to think was so good and my opinion has drastically changed about that. When they showed up the septic was already dug up and then they told us that there was another lid or two behind that and one of them has a filter in it that needs to be cleaned out also. Never once did my other septic guy ever do that. I'm very happy with Stanley's price and the gentleman were very nice, explained everything to me. I highly recommend them😊
