Prep work is what Stearns Painting's customers write about. The Stoneham painter holds 5 stars from 51 Google ratings, and the site says owner Michael Stearns learned the trade from his father and grandfather. It paints interiors and exteriors and refinishes kitchen cabinets and decks. In a July 2026 review, a customer said the crew spent long hours power washing and scraping before painting the exterior, then cleaned up completely. A September 2023 reviewer with an old house said the crew protected the original shingles rather than giving them a cosmetic coat. An August 2022 customer said they primed each shingle of a 1952 home by hand. Cabinets are a regular job: a May 2023 reviewer wanted maple cabinets sprayed with no brush strokes and said the setup took longer than the painting. In a November 2024 review, a customer said Mike had certain rooms painted first so they were done by move-in, then came back himself for touch-ups. A September 2024 customer said the crew put in long hours over the Fourth of July to finish on their tight timeline. A September 2023 customer who took five bids said Stearns was not the cheapest but the one they trusted most. The Massachusetts home improvement contractor (HIC) license held by Stearns Group Inc, #192082, is expired on the state registry.
Stearns Painting did an incredible job painting the exterior of my house! They spent endless hours on prep work alone power washing and scraping before applying the paint. The house looks incredible. The crew was polite, professional, and cleaned up completely. I will hire them for any paint job in the future.
Work was done in a professional manner. We have used Stearns Painting before. Have always been pleased with results. Would call again. Highly recommended. Even the dogs love him!
Loving my kitchen makeover thanks to Michael and his crew. Knowledgeable, professional, personable, patient, and quality work .., highly recommend!
Michael and his team did an amazing job on all the rooms in my new home. They were able to fit me in before my move-in date, which I really appreciated. Communication was easy and clear throughout the entire process. The quality of their work is excellent, and I couldn’t be happier with the results. Highly recommend!
I have had Michael do many painting jobs for me. I have a construction company and when it's time for paint, I never have to worry about watching over to make sure everything is going well. Michael and his team are spot on and really do pay great attention to detail. I am very satisfied with all of the work his team does and highly recommend if you are looking for quality and excellent communication!
