Stella Construction is Craig Stella's one-man general-contracting operation in Fall River, in business since 2012 — and the recent record is alarming. BBB grades the business an F, giving 'failure to have a required competency license' as the reason and flagging two licensing alerts on the profile. The most serious account is recent: a January 2025 Google reviewer says they paid Craig $15,750 for a job in Lincoln, that no work was done, that calls went unanswered for six weeks, and that their radiators went missing — including $6,000 paid toward 'his electrician.' That is one side of a dispute, but it is specific, dated, and consistent with the BBB grade. The older accounts are warmer: a July 2024 reviewer praised an honest, well-priced bathroom floor replacement done in two days, and a BBB reviewer described flexible pricing and good communication on a master-bath rebuild. The pattern — good small jobs, then a large deposit gone wrong — is exactly the one a homeowner should protect against. Given the F grade, the licensing alerts, and an unresolved five-figure complaint, this is not a business to pay a deposit to without an active licence in hand, a written contract, and staged payments — if at all.
