What's written about them publicly is thin. Their BuildZoom page carries no customer reviews, and the two permits it samples are old — one in Dorchester Center in 2012, one in Nahant back in 2010. That's a long way from Millers Falls, so it's worth asking how far east they actually travel. BuildZoom also lists a Massachusetts General Contractor licence, #138994, that it says expired on 06-01-2005, plus a handful of other inactive or cancelled home improvement registrations filed under the Stephen Smith name. It's a common name, and the directory may well be pooling several men who share it. For a homeowner, that means the usual homework matters more than normal here: ask which registration number they're working under, get addresses for jobs finished in the last year or two, and call those owners.
