Stockwood Excavation is an excavation business in Amesbury, MA. Its own website lists clearing, filling, tree and stump removal, landscape prep, snow removal, stump grinding, brush removal, erosion control, yard expansion and regrading. A recent review says the owner helped out within two hours of a call on a Saturday. In 2026, Stockwood excavated a damaged residential sewer line, and that review says Gordon's team showed up, worked hard and got the job done. Another 2026 review thanks Gordon and his crew for an emergency water pipe repair over a holiday weekend, working around a fieldstone foundation. A 2026 review also describes a large backyard renovation (stumps, tree placement, drainage, grading) that Gordon, Sam and the Stockwood team helped with. In 2025, they cut into the city street and sidewalk to install a new electrical conduit. A 2025 review describes the removal of a failed fieldstone retaining wall at the top of a large slope leading down into Clark Pond, as part of an entirely new backyard. In 2024, after four huge trees were taken out of a front yard, Gordon, Sam and the team removed the giant stumps left behind, dug out the hill and leveled the yard, then brought in loam and planted grass seed. A separate 2024 review says they leveled side and back yards with fill and loam after a flood at the house. In 2022, Sam Stockwood put together a proposal, and they helped install a retaining wall and a bluestone patio and prepped the site for sod. In 2020, Gordon dug out an old culvert that failed, excavated a new trench with the right grade and installed the new pipe, and that two-day job was finished in one day.
