That gap is the first thing to know about Sublime Construction, a Lynn outfit at 43 Howard St that the BBB says started in 2011 under president Josue Torres, the man reviewers call Joshua. Concrete is what the company puts first in its own words: footings and piers, elevator pit walls, foundation walls, slab-on-grade, retaining walls. Building permits pulled between 2019 and 2024 fill in the rest — decks in Malden and Rowley, framing and foundation piling in Newbury, a shingle roof in Peabody, siding and a kitchen in Danvers, valued from $6,000 to $105,400. The customer accounts, dated as they are, run in one direction. In a July 2015 review a homeowner described a crew working in 95-degree heat who found two front steps too far gone to repair and replaced them outright, then patched cellar wall cracks at a price the couple called competitive. Another 2015 reviewer, a general contractor himself, listed brick repair, concrete, stairs, retaining walls and foundation repair and said the job started ahead of schedule. Sod installs and a spring cleanup show up in 2015 reviews too. Two things to settle before hiring. Nothing written by a customer has appeared in more than a decade, so ask for references from recent jobs rather than leaning on the 4.9. And the licence picture depends on who you ask: Angi and HomeAdvisor list trade licence CS-113106 expiring in November 2026, BuildZoom describes a Home Improvement Contractor registration under Josue Torres, and while both Angi and HomeAdvisor display a 'BBB ACCREDITED BUSINESS A+' affiliation, the BBB's own profile says the company is not accredited — it holds an A+ grade, which is a different thing. Best suited to concrete and site work — footings, retaining walls, steps, grading — where the permits and the older reviews line up. Confirm the licence with the state and ask what they have poured this year.
