The most useful reviews of a homebuilder are the ones written years after the keys change hands, and Tarkka has a few. One owner, writing in March 2026, had lived in their Tarkka house about twelve years and said it had held up in every respect. Another wrote the same month that a carpenter brought in for small work kept stopping to remark on how well the house was built. Tarkka Homes is a family custom builder in Hopkinton working central and southern New Hampshire — new builds, additions, garages and renovations. A 2021 New Hampshire Business Review piece described it as a custom homebuilder serving that territory under Morin family ownership; the names in the reviews are Tricia and Matt, with Paul in the earlier ones. New Hampshire does not register general contractors or homebuilders, so for this trade there is no state licence in play either way. The detailed homeowner accounts are the substance here. A March 2026 couple built a custom lakefront home in Barrington while living out of state and credited the on-site presence, subcontractor relationships and honest input on proposed extras. A January 2026 family who lost their home to a fire two years earlier described the rebuild being steered through a long run of complications, most of them not the builder's own, without a pile of change orders. In a 2024 review, buyers who had bought land in 2021 described being pointed to an architect, then given a contract they called detailed and fair. A January 2026 reviewer reported a project finished on time and on budget. One thing to weigh when reading the 5.0 average across 90 Google ratings: a good number of the write-ups are from people in the trade rather than clients — an architect who has referred them for 20 years, a subcontractor, a flooring supplier who serves their jobs, and neighbors praising community work rather than a build. Several batches also arrived on the same days. The homeowner accounts are the ones with details in them, and they are consistent. Right call for a custom build, an addition or a substantial renovation in the Concord-to-Hopkinton area where you want the owners involved and a contract written in detail. Do the homework a big build deserves: ask for two or three addresses of homes finished three to five years ago, talk to those owners, and confirm insurance and warranty terms in the contract before signing.
