The Cleaning Authority - Stamford is the Stamford franchise of a house-cleaning brand; a 2024 Google reviewer named the franchise owner as Doug Burke. Its website lists New Canaan, Darien, Norwalk, Westport and Stamford as its service area, and it holds 4.8 stars from 182 Google ratings. A recent customer said the cleaners got mud from the dog's paws off the floor and got the shower floor to sparkle like the day it was installed. A recent Google reviewer described a move-out clean of a former apartment. A Reddit commenter in r/norwalk wrote in 2026 that they had used the Stamford location for two-plus years, and a 2025 commenter in r/StamfordCT said they had used the service every two weeks for 6-7 years with no issue. A 2024 customer said that after a basement flooded in a downpour, the business scheduled a worker the next day who got all the water up and sanitized and deodorized the unfinished basement. A 2024 Reddit commenter said a deep clean of a laundry area cost $280, and with extra time the cleaners did the whole place. A recent 1-star customer hired the business for a move-in deep clean and said cabinets and drawers still held crumbs, food wrappers, hair and dirt afterward, with dust left on door trim; that customer said the business gave a full refund after they complained. A 2021 customer said a different team came every time, sheets were left unchanged and a powder room went uncleaned on multiple occasions. A 2021 reviewer said the business charged for at least 4 hours on any job and arrived 3 hours late without a call for one service.
