A 2025 Google reviewer wrote that The Dock Doctors replaced a 100+ foot concrete seawall on a Lake George property over the fall and into the winter, then returned at the completion of the summer season to remove the old dock and install the new one. That 2025 reviewer said the company quoted a price that was "more than fair" for a project of that size, installed a set of stairs from the seawall down into the lake, and that Mike put time, effort and energy into the permitting process. A recent Google reviewer says they have worked with the company for almost 20 years on installation, removal and reinstall, repair, redesign and replacement of sections of their dock and swim deck, and that Mike on the design team has helped with several changes to their docks. A 2024 customer wrote that a sliding dock step "Arrived with a few days and was ready to go" and that contact with the company was prompt and professional. In 2022, a customer said Harrison showed them all the dock configurations and sketched out some preliminary ideas. A 2025 Reddit commenter wrote that the Dock Doctors recommended leaving a massive wood dock in the lake, and that they did so year after year without causing any damage. A 2023 reviewer wrote that in the summer of 2022 the company returned their deposit and said it could no longer service their account due to a worker shortage. That 2023 reviewer also said their retaining wall was damaged when the company removed the dock in 2021 and cost $3k to fix, and later added that they had come to amenable terms. The company says it has been in business 40 years. Its website lists floating docks, pond docks, leg & wheel docks, boathouses and dock ramps among its products.
“Especially the owners of the chimney sweep, brickliners, stove depot, shearer chevrolet, and dock doctors. All scumbags who hang with each other and laugh at the ways they exploit our labor.”
“We built a massive wood dock and the Dock Doctors recommended that we leave it in the lake. We did so year after year without causing any damage.”

We have had a relationship with the Dock Doctors for almost 20 years. Throughout they have provided thoroughly professional services - including installation, removal and reinstall, repair, redesign, and replacement of sections of our dock and swim deck. Their entire team is exemplary - today's re-install team at our Lake was thoroughly expert and left us ready for the season. Mike on their design team has helped with several changes to our docks over the years and has provided real value in the redesigns. We recommend them highly. Linda Ely
Several years ago my brother and I purchased a property on Lake George for our families to share and also to rent out during parts of the summer season. While the house was incredible shape, we knew we had a major project looming in the not too distant future because the dock was in ill repair and the 100+ foot concrete seawall was beginning to collapse into the lake. When we began searching for a company to do the work we were lucky enough to be pointed in the direction of The Dock Doctors. From day one Mike and his team were incredible to work with. They easily assessed what needed to be done, drew up detailed plans and quoted us a price that was more than fair for a project of our size. The seawall was replaced over the fall and into the winter season. The work was done with incredible precision and attention to detail. Each time I met with them on site it was clear they were on top of things and there was not a single time where I was not completely confident in the outcome. At the completion of the summer season they returned to remove the old dock and install the new one. The level of improvement is hard to describe and again, the attention to detail is off the charts: the dock is perfectly leveled to the sea wall, the ladder was carefully construction and placed, even the rope cleats, which pop up or down out of the dock on demand are great. They also installed a set of stairs from the seawall down into the lake and those too are very well constructed. Outside of the actual work, I want to call out the amount of time, effort and energy that Mike put into our permitting process. If you have done work on a lakefront property before you know how challenging this can be. Our project was no exception and honestly speaking, I don't know how we would have gotten it done without Mike pushing it forward. This part of the process really stood out to me and I am thankful we had Mike and his team working on our behalf. I can't imagine a single reason to use any firm other than The Dock Doctors for any kind of waterfront project you are considering. I cannot recommend them highly enough.
The sliding dock step is perfect for my wife and parents. Literally walk onto the aft. The retraction is required for me due to my dual console posts. So this design is perfect. Two lag bolts 6” into the rim joist and 1/2 bolts on the rear rail. 61 lbs and built quality and sturdy. Their will add to all my days embarking a disembarking. A must for 4 post lifts. Another boater was having the same issue at work and is ordering one . Arrived with a few days and was ready to go. Love it. The contact I had with the company was prompt and professional. Look on their website for a video of my install. Don’t cheat yourself and jury rig something that won’t guarantee you and your passengers safety. This is the well thought out solution!
The summer of 2022 Dock Doctors, after building and years of installation & removal of our dock, returned our 2022 deposit and claimed they could no longer service our account due to worker shortage and were discontinuing us as a client moving forward. Something to note, our 2021 dock removal did not go very smoothly, and our retaining wall/dock anchor/cement was damaged when they removed the dock – which they photographed and promised to address when they returned in 2022. They left us in an extremely precarious situation as other dock companies don’t want anything to do with you if they did not build it. It also cost us $3k to fix the retaining wall they damaged. Think twice or ask the right questions/get in writing their commitment to you and make sure it’s binding. We are not happy with the situation they left us in and thought we had a wonderful relationship. Treated them like family. ---- Since originally writing this we can to amenable terms. Thank you.
Harrison was very helpful and knowledgeable. He showed us all the dock configurations and sketched out some preliminary ideas for us. Answered all our questions. Impressed with the showroom and the staff.
