The Door Guy is a garage door repair outfit out of West Paris, Maine, and the newest review on file is a warning. In an August 2026 Angi review, a customer who had used the company before and referred five friends said a technician diagnosed a Lift master opener as needing a new logistics board around June 5th, then never came back to finish the job; three months on, follow-up calls still got the answer that they would check on the part, and the customer wrote that they would never recommend the company again. The longer history runs the other way. The company's site says it has more than 30 years installing and repairing residential and commercial garage doors, and lists Gray, Windham, Casco, Auburn and Standish in its service area. On Angi it holds 4.8 stars from 17 ratings, and 14 of the 16 written reviews there date from 2016 to 2018. Speed is what those customers describe: in a 2017 review, a homeowner was scheduled within an hour and had the door repaired by lunch the same day; in a 2018 review, the crew arrived within the hour they promised and fixed the door in another 45 minutes, then pointed out problems the door could have later. Another 2018 customer said the technician had the repair parts on the truck and charged a fair price, and a 2018 garage door replacement came with an explanation of how the door worked and how to troubleshoot it. A May 2025 Google review says the opener's manufacturer recommended The Door Guy, and that he was prompt and knowledgeable about doors and openers. A 2021 Angi reviewer described on-time visits at a reasonable price, and said the company came back to make it right when there was an issue. The company's site says it offers free estimates and 24/7 emergency service, and that it is insured.
I have used The Garage Door guy before with no issues and have referred them to 5 other friends in the past. however early this spring I had them come take a look at a Lift master garage door opener with a problem. The diagnosis was that it needed a new logistics board this was on or about June 5th. They have never returned to complete the job, and after following up with phone calls they always say they will check on the arrival of the part. I will not and do not recommend them any longer it has been three months, if you did not want the work than they should have just told me so. no excuse for not completing this 10 minute job, I will never recommend them again
I needed my garage door opener worked on and called the manufacturer who suggested I call The Door Guy. Always great to get a recommendation when you donβt know who to call. He came highly recommended and was very prompt and very knowledgeable about garage doors and openers. If you need your garage door repaired, I recommend The Door Guy.
Always on time, reasonable price, and if I had an issues they would always come back and make it right.
Nice, kind, very personal people. The work was quick, clean and efficient.
The professionals arrived at my house within one hour as they stated they would. They fixed my garage door within another 45 Minutes. Completing this task ensured the security of my home. They assessed my automatic garage door with potential future problems. Offered recommendations. Even though it was not something that had to be done immediately it allows me to be able to plan for the future needs of my home. The staff were courteous and experienced. I will not hesitate to use this business, ΒThe Door GuyΒ, for repairs in the future. I highly recommend them.
