The Generator Guys install and service home standby generators, and a 2025 customer described the company as Southbury-based. On its website it offers 24/7 emergency service and says it will come to the home and give a written estimate. A 2022 customer said the company installed a standby propane generator with a transfer switch, wire hook ups and main panel wire modifications, and handled communications with the propane company for an inground 500 gallon tank. That customer said the generator ran through 72 hours without Eversource power after the May 15, 2018 Southbury tornado. A 2025 customer wrote that the company installed a whole house generator in 2021 and took care of permits, propane suggestions and clearing and prep of the area. A 2025 customer said a 22KW generator and auto transfer switch the company installed had worked well for 8 years. A 2025 customer said the company provided semi-annual maintenance of their generator. A 2025 customer said the company sent emails in advance advising what to do ahead of storms. A 2022 customer said they bought an extended warranty and that the company performed the yearly service. A recent customer says site visits are offered on Fridays only, and that after Adam came on a Tuesday they did not hear back for over a month, and only after they had another company under contract. A 2026 customer said Adam booked an estimate for a Friday at 2 PM, then did not show or call; when texted, he said he had emergencies and forgot to call. A 2023 customer said that after 4 weeks of follow-ups and being told several times someone would come in two weeks, no one had come. A recent customer says the company is very busy and visits certain towns on certain weeks.
Don't bother. They say they do site visits on Fridays, only. I challenged that and Adam did show up on a Tuesday, I think. Didn't hear back from him for over a month and that was only because I called him back after I had another company under contract.
Adam was great to work with. He took the time to explain things. They are very busy and visit certain towns on certain weeks. In the end he got me taken care of. Thank you!
I got a call from Adam last Sunday to schedule an appointment for an estimate on Friday at 2 PM. He left a voicemail. He picked the day and time. I was at work so I returned his call the next morning and set up the appointment. Got text and email reminders this morning. Waited all afternoon - no show, no call. Texted him near five o'clock to ask what happened. He said he had emergencies and forgot to call. I texted after almost three hours of waiting as I was told texting was preferred over calling. We understand emergencies come first. All it took was a call. We need a company that we can trust for something as important and expensive as a whole house generator. Unfortunately, I wouldn't trust your company to help when really needed. I did reach out before posting publicly.
Adam and his team are great. The technician Doug, went above and beyond to help my mother with the generator when I was unavailable. She specifically asked me to make sure he was recognized. Southbury-based company that does exceptional work. Thank you Doug and Adam.
