The Grass Guy

The Grass Guy is a Hull outfit built around the standing lawn account — the weekly mow, the spring mulch, the fertilization program, and the plow when it snows. The company says it is family owned and operated, and its Better Business Bureau page puts it at eight years in business, working across Boston's South Shore. A repeat customer put it plainly in April 2026: Chris's crew had kept up his yard for more than four years, the pricing was reasonable, and the guys were efficient. The company's own service list runs wider than mowing — irrigation, hardscaping and design, mulch, tree and shrub care, and snow and ice management. In a June 2025 Reddit thread on South Shore landscapers, one poster wrote that Grass Guys are very responsive and handle their lawn mowing, irrigation and yard cleanups. A week later, another poster in the same thread wrote, "I wouldn't use Grass Guys, the quality of their work is suspect to say the least." One 2023 one-star review is about a driving incident rather than the yard work: the reviewer said he was cut off by the company truck and got a rude gesture for it. Ten Google ratings average 4.2, and the BBB page carries an A+ letter grade, though the business is not an accredited member there. A sensible call if you want one crew on a regular schedule through the whole year instead of a single project. Ask what the fertilization program actually covers, and settle the snow-and-ice terms in writing before the season starts.
