One customer says a crew found vermiculite insulation in their attic mid-job and Mike, the owner, let them know right away rather than working around it quietly. That kind of straightforward communication comes up again and again in reviews for The Weatherize Guyz, a Hooksett, NH insulation and weatherization company Mike Smith has run for nine years, drawing on more than 15 years of his own experience in the trade and BPI Building Analyst and Building Envelope Professional certifications. Most jobs come through New Hampshire's and Massachusetts' home-energy rebate programs, NH Saves and Mass Save, for work like attic and basement insulation, air sealing, and weatherizing old, drafty houses; one reviewer described the NH Saves incentive as a 75% rebate on approved work up to $6,000. Reviewers consistently describe crews, Mike, Dan, Lyle, Andrew and Josh show up by name across different jobs, that arrive on time, protect floors and landscaping, and leave a site as clean as they found it. One customer with a 1955 cape and another with a 115-year-old home both said the crew handled unusually old, hard-to-insulate structures without issue, and one review described the team repairing a cracked beam and fixing ventilation as part of an insulation job. In a January 2026 review, one customer described a very different experience: after waiting two months for an appointment, the crew arrived with an attitude and refused to do the work. It stands apart from the reviews around it, strong five-star accounts both before and after, including several from the months right after. The company's Massachusetts home improvement contractor registration is active, and BBB lists an EPA certification for the company as well, expiring in January 2027; the Better Business Bureau has accredited it A+. For attic, basement or whole-house insulation and air sealing anywhere in New Hampshire or Massachusetts, this is an experienced, well-reviewed crew, especially useful if you're going through a rebate program; given the one sharply negative account, confirm your appointment window directly if you're booking during a busy season.
I cannot recommend the Weather Guyz enough! I found them through the NHSaves program, and the entire team—Nate, Shaelen, Andrew, and Zach—was fantastic from start to finish. They were incredibly professional, prompt, and treated our home with the utmost respect throughout the entire insulation process. What really stood out was their communication; they walked me through every step of the work and performed thorough tests to ensure the house was properly air-sealed. They even went above and beyond by fixing our bathroom exhaust, correctly rerouting it to vent through the roof instead of the soffits. They left our home spotless and, most importantly, much better insulated. If you are looking for a contractor through the NHSaves network, look no further than this team!
The workers were nice and professional
We were introduced to The Weatherize Guys through a home energy program with Resilient Buildings Group. We were impressed by their amazing work ethic, attention to detail, and follow through on every project. The crew kept us in the loop the entire time, and did a great job of cleaning up after themselves each day. We now have peace of mind knowing our home is more energy efficient than ever, and we have the Weatherize Guys to thank for that! We highly recommend their services.
Dan & his team were great to work with. They came on time to do the insulation work. They were respectful of my home & all of the flowerbeds I have around my house. Dan kept me informed of the project & asked my opinion multiple times. They did a great job cleaning up as well. I would recommend them to my friends & family.
Had an energy audit done which later resulted in sealing basement and attic, insulation, building a platform and fixing a couple things in the house. They did an amazing job and were very efficient with time. All the guys were great and I would have no problem recommending.
