Thrifty Oil sells heating oil, and a 2023 Google reviewer gave it four stars, writing that it was great "when you need a quick fix and you want oil without a contract" and calling the staff very pleasant. In a 2024 r/RhodeIsland thread, one commenter wrote that they call Thrifty for the service and that Thrifty is cheaper than Petro. A 2022 Google reviewer gave one star after a delivery went wrong. That customer wrote that they called because their oil was low and were told the oil would come between the 9th and the 11th. In that 2022 review, the customer said that when they called on the 11th, a woman on the phone was rude, said those dates had never been given, and put the delivery around the 15th or 16th, which the customer said would be too late; the reviewer wrote they would never use the company again.

We called thrifty oil on February 5th and told them our oil was low we were going to need oil for heat very soon. I was told that they would deliver between Wednesday the 9th and Friday the 11th. When it was getting later on the Friday the 11th we were worried they weren’t coming and we might not make it through the weekend with the oil we had left. I called Thrifty Oil and was met with the most rude obnoxious woman ever. She told me they told me they had told me different dates. She said they would deliver around the 15th or 16 th. I told her we wouldn’t make it until then. She proceeded to tell me they did not say the 9th through the 11th. That was a total lie !!!! She was so rude I will never use this company again. Good luck to who ever does. Lol.
