Snowsurance is a Watertown-based snow removal outfit that says it's been running for 7 years, clearing driveways, sidewalks, and walkways for residential customers. Its Thumbtack star chart splits sharply — 81% five-star, 19% one-star, almost nothing in between — and its written reviews follow the same pattern. In a December 2025 review, a customer described a truck arriving early to clear the front walk, sidewalk, and driveway with a snow blower; in an August 2024 review, another pointed to the company's progress-photo updates mid-storm, calling it "the convenience of getting a dedicated snow removal company." A separate February 2026 review likewise called the crew "very responsive" in "a challenging situation." But another February 2026 review tells a rougher story: during a 17-inch storm, the customer said the phone staff was rude, the crew took three days to arrive, finished the job in 15 minutes, and charged $409 — more than the customer felt the job was worth. Worth asking before booking: how pricing and response times hold up during a MAJOR storm specifically, since that's exactly where the one negative account diverges from the rest. For routine snowfalls, the record points to a fast, tech-forward operation; for a big storm, it's worth confirming pricing and timeline expectations up front.
