Tingley Electric Services is a Milford electrical company — a leepartners.com notice says it moved there from Natick — and the word that keeps attaching itself to it is price. A September 2026 Reddit commenter in r/newtonma recommends Tingley for wiring work in older Newton homes, calling it very professional, and names the one con: you pay for the premium service. Its Massachusetts electrician licence, 17317-EL-A, is active on the state registry with Vincent J Tingley as holder of record. BBB grades it A+, and Angi and HomeAdvisor each show 4.5 stars from 69 ratings. The written reviews run from 2014 to 2024, and the good ones describe careful crews. In a March 2023 Angi review, a homeowner listed a chandelier that didn't work, an outdoor light, a bathroom fan/light combo to install, a microwave circuit that kept tripping and two basement outlets, and wrote that Noah and Tony "fixed all of these jobs efficiently and quickly" for a very reasonable price. A July 2023 reviewer said the crew installed a new central A/C over the two days promised, had the lowest estimate, and helped set up a MassSave inspection for a rebate, though cleanup was not complete. A December 2024 customer said the electrician made additional recommendations without over-selling and was clear on cost. Cost is where the complaints sit. Several Angi reviewers from 2022 to 2024 call the price high or very expensive even while praising the work. In a January 2023 one-star review, a customer whose thermostat failed on a cold day was billed $650, cut to $501 for a non-programmable Honeywell unit and then to $401 after the $99 trip fee was dropped, and still called the charge outrageous.
