Tingley Electric Services is an electrical shop that moved from Natick to 115 Cedar Street in Milford, Massachusetts in November 2020, working with a commercial real estate broker to find the new space. Owner Vincent Tingley, referred to as "Vinny" by a 2014 Houzz reviewer, runs a crew that, per the Better Business Bureau's own services list, handles a mix of household electrical work (panel upgrades, wiring, EV charger installs) alongside HVAC jobs like central air conditioning, furnaces, and ductless mini-splits. Written reviews run from 2014 through the newest account on file in late 2024, and they tell two stories at once. On one side, reviewers on Angi and HomeAdvisor between 2022 and 2024 repeatedly described technicians as knowledgeable, on time, and professional — a 2023 customer recalled Tingley fixing a broken chandelier, an outdoor light, a bathroom fan/light combo, and a tripping microwave circuit, plus adding two basement outlets, all in one visit, and a late-2024 reviewer said the company charged less just to come assess a problem than competitors wanted. In 2014, a Houzz reviewer credited the crew with patching the holes they cut to run new wiring, and a 2016 Houzz review praised the office for walking through the scope and cost up front. On the other side, price is the complaint that keeps resurfacing. A 2022 HomeAdvisor review described technicians pushing an "unnecessary" system upgrade before quoting an "outrageous price" for the smaller job actually requested, a 2023 reviewer disputed a $99 trip fee tacked onto a thermostat swap, and the Better Business Bureau carries a similar complaint about a $99 charge just to look at a generator. As recently as an October 2024 review, a customer said simply "the price was a little to high," and a February 2023 reviewer who otherwise called the work and manners great still flagged the job as "very expensive." A 2023 review also said the office doesn't always answer the phone consistently, echoing an undated Better Business Bureau complaint about a furnace issue going unanswered since the prior Friday. Workmanship isn't uniformly praised either — a 2016 Houzz review described at least six unpatched holes, up to two feet wide, left in a wall after wiring was moved for a window, a sharp contrast with the 2014 account crediting patched walls. HomeAdvisor and Angi both show a 4.5-star average across 69 ratings each, Houzz shows 4.0 from 4 ratings, and the Better Business Bureau grades the company A+ — a platform picture that sits above the tone of the detailed written accounts, which lean heavily on pricing friction. Tingley looks like a reasonable call for everyday electrical and HVAC repairs handled by people who know the trade, but it's worth getting a firm, itemized quote — including any trip or diagnostic fee — before work starts, and confirming who to call if a job needs a follow-up.

Very happy with the overall experience. Quick to schedule an appointment and they showed up on time. Other electricians were charging a much higher price just to come out and assess the issue. The electrician was knowledgeable and quickly assessed the problem. Additional recommendations were made but there was no over-selling. He kept me informed of what needed to be done and clear on cost. Thank you for the great service.
