Tingley Home Services carries 4.9 stars across 1,172 Google ratings — and two of its most recent written reviews, both from 2025, are serious money complaints. The Milford company does both electrical and HVAC work. It holds Massachusetts electrician licence 8248-EL-A1, which is active, with Tingley Home Services as the holder of record. Its BBB grade is A+, and the BBB lists services running from AC and boilers to EV chargers and electric service upgrades. The bulk of the written reviews, mostly from early 2025, name individual technicians and describe them explaining the problem. HVAC technician Brett is named most often: a January 2025 customer said he and his assistant drove about 30 miles through rush hour on a very cold day, found the source of a heat pump failure and stayed until it worked and the thermostat made sense; a 2024 customer said he showed them where the gas shut-off was during a furnace and duct check. On the electrical side, Nick is named for a January 2025 thermostat replacement and, with Zach, for undercabinet kitchen lighting that February. A February 2025 customer said John added an outlet and replaced kitchen lights without rushing them when they added a second fixture. In a 2024 HomeAdvisor review, a customer said a Mitsubishi heat pump went in and the old furnace and AC came out in one day, despite a change in location midway. The complaints are specific. In an October 2025 Google review, a customer said they were quoted over $13,000 for a new HVAC system, wired a $6,500 deposit in July, nobody showed up for the promised install, and four follow-up calls had gone unanswered with the deposit still held. A September 2025 customer said they paid a permit fee but the electrical permit was never filed with their town, and two months of follow-up got no response. A June 2024 customer said they were charged $419 a year after any service and could not get a call back. BBB reviews include a new furnace not working properly with no answer from the company.
DO NOT BOOK I was quoted over $13,000.00 for a new HVAC system in mid July with a promise to get the new system in before my wife and I left for our wedding and honeymoon on July 31st. I wired them $6,500.00 as you must deposit half the amount of the quote upfront. Tingley never showed and I received a call on my wedding day from who I think was the owner apologizing for being OOO for his son's baseball tournament. Fast forward until now and I have followed up with them 4 times through the customer service line, originally trying to reschedule but my latest call was to get my money back because no one has responded to my inquiries. Still no response from them and they have had my $6,500.00 since mid July. Everyone I talk to says to get a lawyer involved but I wasn't raised to threaten businesses with lawyers. PS: we loved the technician Brett who came out and diagnosed issues and educated us on HVAC systems in general but the business operations simply can't be trusted, ESPECIALLY WITH YOUR MONEY IN THEIR HANDS
Please avoid this company at all cost! I paid for the permit fee and they just pocketed the money and never filed the electrical permit with my town. I’ve been trying to follow up with them in the past two months, but have gotten no responses.
I had my mini splits serviced by Tingley home services. The HVAC technician was Brett Siegel and Taylor. They were very professional and explained everything clearly. They were friendly and very knowledgeable and very respectful of my home. I would definitely use them again.
This was my first time using Tingley and I'm glad I called. Everyone was polite, helpful and did everything within a few hours of my call. Noah explained everything in detail, showed me options and was very helpful.
Brett was excellent! He was knowledgeable and personable. He did an excellent job of explaining and showing us the issues that were addressed. We were extremely pleased about the service we received.
