A recent customer said its curbside service took away an old couch and that the process was easy and cost-effective. A 2025 customer said they scheduled a mattress pickup online, and they showed up as promised and took it away for a reasonable price. A 2022 customer with a herniated disc said two men came to retrieve two twin mattresses in Salem and helped get them out of the house. Drop-off is the other route. A 2025 customer said they dropped off seven mattresses and box springs from cleaning out their father's house, at $25 per item to drop off versus $45 to pick up, and found out at the office that it also takes sofas, sectionals, office chairs and some e-waste like laptops and flat screen TVs. A 2024 customer wrote that, as of October 2024, Fitchburg residents paid $25 per piece to drop off and everyone else $35. A 2024 customer who brought a mattress and box set said the people outside helped unload. The owners of a dumpster rental company said they work with it regularly as their go-to recycling partner for mattresses and box springs, and called the facility clean and well organized. A local news report describes the city of Pittsfield's Department of Public Services and Utilities partnering with Tough Stuff Recycling on curbside mattress pickup. A 2023 customer said a mattress pickup scheduled through Pittsfield was never picked up; the mattress sat in the rain and they were out $55. A 2024 customer said Tashiana made everything right in a two-minute phone call after struggles online, and asked for a customer service phone number.
