Town & Country Builders is a general contractor that builds whole houses and additions. A 2015 customer said the company built their architect-designed home in western Massachusetts, and that the job came in on budget and on schedule. That same 2015 customer wanted white wooden doors while Jay thought they should be stained cherry; the customer said he offered to do one in cherry and, if they did not like it, take it out and paint them all white, and they liked it. Its Massachusetts home improvement contractor registration, number 106961, is active on the state registry, with Jay A. Feldman as the holder of record. On its Houzz profile, the company says it has over 28 years of building homes, and it holds 5.0 stars from 10 ratings on Houzz and 5.0 stars from 3 ratings on BuildZoom. A 2015 customer said Jay built their house, which had a lot of strange angles, while Maurica designed the kitchen, and that Jay started building during the height of winter and still finished on time. A 2020 customer said Jay, Maurica and their team built out a second floor addition that meant moving the HVAC and electrical panel, sorting out chimney code issues and working with an open roof through the fall and early winter. A 2019 customer who worked with Jay on a contemporary spec house and two major house renovations said all three were completed on time and on budget, and that when there was extra cost he explained why the changes were needed and what the cost would be. A 2019 customer said Jay and Bob built cabinets and bookshelves in five sections that fit precisely, along with window seats and a hallway closet. A 2019 customer said one of several projects the company did for them was replacing a column of stacked windows with a fixed window, and that they cleaned up after themselves. A 2017 customer on BuildZoom said Jay and his crew put on a two-floor extension with a basement, new Sheetrock throughout, new plumbing and a roof; he would not do the heat, so that customer contracted it separately. A 2017 customer said the company added a three-season porch with all the wood done by hand, and a 2016 customer said Jay and Bob put a three-season addition onto their house.
Jay, Maurica and their team did a terrific job building out a second floor addition on our home. This was much more complicated than we realized -- HVAC and electrical panel had to be moved. Chimney code issues. An open roof during the fall and early winter. No issue was too big for them to overcome. Jay is totally trustworthy and takes pride in his work. He is a real craftsman and we are so happy with his work.
T&C is the best. Their work is flawless, on time, on budget...and they clean up after themselves. You wouldn't even know you had construction done. Among the many projects they've done for me, one was to replace a column of stacked windows with a fixed window. See photos.
Town and Country Builders created a new living space for us that we love. Jay and Maurica are experienced and easy to work with. They helped us to find tile and flooring that fit our needs. Town and Country built custom cabinets and build-ins that are handsome and high quality. Their excellent craftsmanship, from framing to finishing work, made a home that we love.
True professionals start to finish. Always went above and beyond. Focused, flexible, friendly and first rate craftsmanship. Would recommend unconditionally.
We are thoroughly pleased with the finished cabinets and bookshelves that Jay and Bob built. With Maurica’s attention to detail and Jay and Bob’s skills and repeat measurements, all five sections fit precisely in our “not too uniform” space. The team also built window seats and a hallway closet to add much needed storage in our home. It was always a pleasure to meet with each of them and they patiently attended to our concerns and requests.
