Maine hvac license MS10006028, held by WAYNE C. TRAFTON, is active on the state registry. A 2026 customer said TRAFTON plumbing and heating, chosen by their general contractor, did all the plumbing and heating for their new house and ran PEX tubing for the radiant heating system through the exposed slab of the front porch, leaving a zone that freezes whenever the outside temperature dips below 0. That 2026 customer said TRAFTON offered excuses, blaming the general contractor and his own guys, and did not make it right. A 2023 customer said they called twice a couple of days apart and left a message, and no one ever got back to them.
Let me preface this with, I have never posted anything about any business ever before in my life. So please understand my sincerity in the fact that I took the additional steps necessary to create and verify my google account solely for the purpose of sharing this information with others in hopes that it would serve to their benefit. TRAFTON plumbing and heating is absolutely incompetent, both as a business and as person. Sometimes in life we get the opportunity to leverage absolutely everything we have, physically, mentally, emotionally and certainly financially in order to achieve, what was for me, intended to be a once in a lifetime event. Construction of my own home for myself and my family. A general contractor was procured and his choice was TRAFTON plumbing and heating. At the time I had no reason not to trust that he would perform his assigned duties without fault. They did all plumbing and heating for the entire house at considerable expense. Either through gross negligence or sheer stupidity they chose, without regard to any common sense whatsoever, to run PEX tubing for the radiant heating system through the exposed slab of the front porch of the house…. Great a heated front porch, right? No of course not. A frozen zone every time the temperature outside dips below 0. Ironically when we would need it most. TRAFTON has had all sorts of excuses for this failure on their part. Blaming the general contractor, his own guys, assuring me that it “wouldn’t be that big of an issue “ Every time he offered an excuse, he failed to accept responsibility as the owner and name of the company and failed to make it right. I sit here currently writing this review in January in my 59 degree living room wrapped in a blanket wishing that I had read a google review like this one prior to allowing TRAFTON onto my property. I wish I could give negative stars but it appears as though one is the lowest allowed.
I called two times a couple days apart and left a message. No one ever got back to me. I realize people are busy, but a call back would have been nice.
