TSD Electric LLC is a Norwood-based electrical contractor whose website says it has more than 25 years of experience and serves residential and commercial customers. The company presents itself as family-owned and locally owned, with residential and commercial electrical work, generator sales and service, and electrical design among its offerings. A Massachusetts registry lists electrician license 22143 as active to Ioannis Poimenidis. The strongest recurring theme in customer accounts is generator work. Reviews describe Generac installations, annual maintenance, troubleshooting, and monitoring, along with panel upgrades, knob-and-tube safety evaluations, whole-home renovation wiring, EV charging, recessed lighting, outlets, and air-conditioner electrical hookups. Customers often praise punctuality, clean installations, progress updates, clear explanations, and professional crews. The written history is substantial: Google shows 4.8 stars from 69 ratings, and the supplied reviews run from 2021 through 2026, with additional Angi reviews from 2019–2020. There are important generator-service cautions to discuss. One January 2026 homeowner said a $300 inspection and oil change was followed by an oil-pressure warning and a $200 return visit that only restarted the generator. A February 2025 review described a long delay and serious dissatisfaction with a Generac purchase and deposit. A December 2023 reviewer alleged being charged for more than five hours of work that took less than an hour. These complaints concern specific generator or billing experiences, while other customers describe successful generator projects and fair value. TSD is a reasonable candidate for electrical work and generator installation or service when the scope, schedule, maintenance responsibility, and billing are documented in writing. Confirm the active license, permit and inspection plan, generator warranty and service terms, expected response times, and how return visits are charged before committing.

“He played on the football team before working for TSD Electric, LLC, in Westwood through Minuteman’s Cooperative Education (Co-Op) Program.”
Very disappointed. We are new to the area and recently purchased a home with an existing generac. We paid TSD $300 to come do a full-service inspection and oil change. On its first exercise post-servicing the generac started throwing an ‘oil pressure warning’ and would no longer run on its schedule. We thought the sensible solution would be to have TSD come back out since it is something seemingly related to the recent maintenance. TSD came out for a total of 20 minutes (probably less) and all they did was restart the generac and then hand us a $200 bill. Absolutely insane. We were considering picking up the routine services but if this how customers are treated then why would we ever want to continue giving our business.
Good experience on my Generac annual maintenance! Good service. Reasonable price. Yani was great. Appreciate him explaining when I should decide to repair in the future versus replace. Helpful to know!
I hired TSD Electric to install a few recessed lights, a new switch and some outlets in my son’s bedroom. They arrived on time, reviewed the work with me that needed to be done and completed everything within the day. It all looks and works wonderfully. The gentlemen that showed up were polite, knowledgeable and respectful. They suggested less costly options to get some other electrical work I need to be done in another room. I would most definitely recommend TSD Electric!
I hardly ever leave reviews (positive or negative), but our experience with TSD has been so bad that I feel the need to warn others. DISCLAIMER: This review is solely in regards to getting a Generac generator through them; I can’t speak on behalf of their other services. We bought a new house in December of 2023, and by 1/9/24 had gotten a proposal for a generator from them. We immediately paid over $6,000 for the required deposit (50%), and was told it could take 6-8 weeks, which we were fine with. I called 2-3 times between 1/9 and 4/15 for an update due to not hearing from them, and was told the delay had been “because of the awful weather” (despite it being a record-low year for snow fall). We wanted the generator for the winter because we had 2 kids under 2 years old, but that was besides the point. 3 months later the generator gets installed on 4/26. We pay the remaining $6,000 balance immediately. We then got the “red light” indicating a problem several times between April and October, and called every time despite us paying for the plan that supposedly has the generator monitored by them 24/7. October rolls around, and the red light remained on for 2 weeks straight. We again call, and they send someone out to replace the battery because it was “completely dead”. Mind you, the generator had not been used a single time since it was installed. I was informed that we would need to pay $185 for the battery to be replaced, even though I was also told it was at no fault of our own, and batteries typically last 3-5 years. So they replace the battery. My husband then calls the office to complain about how ridiculous it is to be forced to pay for what we can only assume was a bad battery. They waive the charge, and admit they can send it back to Generac as faulty. Why they didn’t just offer to do that in the beginning is beyond me. Within 3 weeks the light is red again. I once again call on 11/18, and am told the whole system likely needs to be replaced. Fine. I hear nothing back, so 12/11 comes and I call again. I’m told they are still waiting to hear back from Generac. It’s now February 6, and we’ve still heard nothing. Fortunately, we haven’t lost power this winter, but it looks like we will have a second winter without a functioning generator that we paid $12,909 for. All of this to say that I would recommend using a different company if you’re looking to have a generator installed and managed. Pros are they are very responsive when you call, in regard to them always answering the phone or calling back quickly. TSD seems to have great reviews and a great reputation, but unfortunately at this point we aren’t having that experience. I would be happy to update my review when/if this gets resolved. We just want a working generator 😩
We would highly recommend TSD for any electrical project, large or small. TSD provided comprehensive electrical contracting for our recent whole home renovation. Their work and communication with us throughout the project was first-rate. The whole team -- Ioannis, Jon, Matty, Vasil, and Maria -- were professional, knowledgeable, and accommodating during an otherwise challenging project. We would not hesitate to use them again in the future!
