The most serious item on record is regulatory, not a customer complaint: an August 2019 Cambridge Day article reported that the Massachusetts Department of Labor Standards twice stopped work at a Cambridge property after finding the company was not properly licensed to remove lead and had failed to contain contaminated dust. The same article noted the company had been fined $7,500 in 2015 for similar violations in Brookline and was warned in 2010 about doing lead work without a license — a pattern spanning close to a decade. Separately, its BBB page carries a customer complaint describing a company driver hitting a neighboring property and damaging a first-floor window while retrieving a dumpster; the owner reportedly sent someone to assess the damage and asked for a repair estimate, though the outcome isn't recorded. One more thing worth checking: the company's own site says over 35 years in business, while BBB's records put it at 45 years from a 1981 start date — worth asking which is accurate. For straightforward debris and dumpster jobs this may still be a reasonable call, but given the lead-related enforcement history, anyone with pre-1978 construction or a known lead concern should ask directly about current licensing before hiring them for anything involving paint, dust or demolition.
