Its website says it has been in business 37 years, offers 24/7 emergency service, and lists a service area running from Norwalk, Darien and Wilton to Stamford, Greenwich and Bridgeport. A customer with a pipe burst at about 10pm said Abel came over right away and connected them with a damage restoration company to prevent mold. A customer whose kitchen sink would not drain said Abel, Ernie and Danny located the blockage two floors down, in the basement, then cleared it and replaced pipe where needed. A customer who called Abel, named on that review as the owner, said he was there in 30 minutes and was open on the phone about prices. One recent customer objected to the bill: they agreed on the phone to $295 for the emergency call plus $190 for the first hour, then paid $485 for a job that took about 15 minutes to remove an old valve. That customer wrote that this was the price Abel had quoted. In a 2024 review, a customer said Abel at The Plumbing Artisans fixed a shower spout and pop-up drain without replacing the parts, after another plumber said they needed replacing. A 2022 customer said Bill called Navien to confirm a boiler heat exchanger was still under warranty and installed the free replacement, for about one-quarter of what an oil company quoted for a new boiler.
