Vartanian Custom Cabinets does not order boxes from a catalog — it draws and builds them, in a factory and showroom in Palmer. The company says it has been family owned and operated since 1984, and a 2020 Woodshop News item marked its 35th year. The jobs customers describe tend to be whole-house, not one kitchen. A March 2026 client spent more than a year working with Duncan on a kitchen and pantry, then on vanities for eight bathrooms. A February 2025 customer listed a kitchen, laundry room, five bath vanities and a bar from one new home build, and in a November 2017 review a homeowner had cabinets made for a new master bath, a renovated kitchen and an added laundry room. Design and building professionals turn up among the customers. A March 2026 reviewer who works as a designer called Duncan helpful and patient through rounds of cabinetry plans for a new build; a March 2018 interior designer said their standards for attention to detail were met. Laplante Construction's site introduces the shop as a trusted partner, and a December 2025 LinkedIn post from a partner firm describes 40 years of working together. An October 2023 Boston Globe piece lists the kitchen cabinets in a featured home as Vartanian's, and a January 2023 Boston Magazine article says a sink vanity and a smaller makeup vanity there were made by them. Not everyone came away happy. A January 2025 Google reviewer called the company unprofessional and would not recommend it, and a May 2024 customer rated the job four stars, calling it a good experience for the most part. There is also paperwork to raise before you sign: the state registry shows the company's Massachusetts home improvement contractor registration, #103128, as expired. Ask who performs and stands behind the installation of your cabinets. This is the shop for someone who wants cabinetry designed, built and finished under one roof — kitchens, vanities, built-ins, pantries, bars — rather than ordered in. Get the lead time in writing, since one client describes a year of design work on a large build, and settle the installation scope up front.

The Vartanian team was such a pleasure to work with. As a designer, I know my projects shine when excellent craftspeople are involved. Duncan was extremely helpful (and patient) as we developed cabinetry plans for multiple spaces in a new build project. There are always edits, curveballs, and sometimes crazy design ideas that come up with any design. Vartanian met us at every challenge with a "can-do, will-do" approach. I highly recommend them for any cabinetry needs.
Vartanian Custom Cabinets was an absolute pleasure to work with. Duncan was professional, knowledgeable and fun. I worked side by side with him for over a year designing our dream kitchen and pantry. We also worked together on our eight bathrooms designing all the vanities. I would highly recommend choosing this company. I also worked with Rhonda on picking out all the hardware for the kitchen and bathrooms. She too was professional, patient and friendly.
Our experience with Vartanian was fantastic. We originally ordered the double sink vanity and powder room vanity, and were so impressed with the quality that we decided to order a linen closet as well. It matched perfectly and we couldn't be happier with the results.
We had the BEST experience working with the Vartanian team! We went with Vartanian for our new kitchen, and we could not be more impressed with our custom cabinets. The quality, color, wood grain, finish - everything is spectacular. The amount of detail and care that went into crafting every single cabinet is more than what we could have asked for. On top of that, their customer service is fantastic - they were patient with us through the design process, open to all of our change orders along the way, and readily available to answer any questions our installers had. Their delivery team did a great job bringing everything in with care and had a great attitude. The cabinets arrived in perfect condition. Everyone at Vartanian is professional, kind and helpful. These cabinets were worth every penny. 10/10 would recommend!
If quality, attention to detail, and reliability are high on your list, Vartanian Custom Cabinets is the company to go with. From design to installation zero issues & on schedule. The final product far exceeded my expectations. Our kitchen is by far the nicest room in our home. Big thanks to everyone at Vartanian.
