Warford Construction

Warford Construction is a Wilmington outfit run by John J. Warford, and its whole visible history sits in building permits rather than in anything a customer has written. Those permits run long. BuildZoom's pull shows a 2012 job in Nahant on Phillips Road — two dormers, one extending a front bedroom, plus a second-floor bathroom and a basement subpanel — then plumbing and gas work in Beverly in 2016, an AC disconnect job in Burlington in 2017, detached-garage wiring in Methuen in 2018, and most recently a pair of Billerica electrical permits in 2025, one of them a 200-amp service. Licensing is where to slow down. BuildZoom lists a Massachusetts general contractor licence, #146834, with an expiration date of 18 May 2019, and says it re-checked in July 2026 and found it still expired. The same number appears again as an inactive Home Improvement Contractor registration, and a construction supervisor licence, CS-043065, is listed inactive too — BuildZoom says both were at one point cancelled. Because it could not confirm an active licence, BuildZoom scores the company 0. None of that has been confirmed against the state registry here, and directory licence entries are wrong often enough to be worth checking. For general contracting in Massachusetts, though, HIC registration and a construction supervisor licence are exactly what you want to ask for by number and verify with the state before any money moves. BuildZoom also states it has received no reviews for them, so there is no customer account of the work in either direction.
