Old New England houses rot, and that is the work Wright Way Construction keeps getting called back for. A three-story Victorian repainted in June 2026 came with rotted-wood repair folded into the price; a homeowner writing in February 2025 described an exterior wall that had opened into a hole, and a section larger than the original quote replaced once the crew found rot in the neighboring boards. The Canterbury firm trades under two names — reviewers write about "NW Painting / Wright-way Construction" interchangeably — and its BBB page files it under handyman, painting, flooring and door installation. A Reddit commenter in January 2026, answering someone looking for a construction company for interior renovations in southern New Hampshire, called it a small husband-and-wife business that goes all over the state. Customers back that shape up by name: Nick and Jenn turn up in review after review, usually working alongside the crew — John, Kyle, Brian, Ben. The Google page sits at 4.9★ across 47 ratings, seven of them posted in the last six months. What people describe is a working mix: old steel cabinets pulled out and a backsplash tiled in March 2026, new floors and a hallway opened up in July 2026, garage window trim repaired and cement-board siding painted around solar panels in October 2025, bulkhead stairs replaced in November 2024, wooden deck railings swapped to Trex in June 2024. A customer writing in August 2025 had lead paint abatement done on a house built in 1939. BBB separately lists an EPA licence number for the business with a 2030 expiration — that is the directory's listing, not something confirmed with the agency. Two things are worth raising before you call. They are busy, and the reviews say so — one August 2025 reviewer's advice was simply to book early. Follow-through on the smallest jobs is where the thin edge shows: a customer writing in June 2025 got an urgent piece squeezed into the schedule ahead of a larger October job, then said they were still waiting to hear back about finishing it, and a 2024 reviewer who liked the result overall wanted a couple of areas touched up. Neither is a warning; both are worth settling in the estimate. New Hampshire does not register handymen or painters, so there is no state licence to check for this trade. If your house is old and the paint job is really a paint-and-carpentry job, this is the shape of outfit that handles both ends of it. Get the dates in writing, and agree up front who comes back for the punch list.
“Wright Way Construction in Canterbury. They go all over the state, but it's a small husband and wife business and they do great work!”
Excellent communication throughout the entire process. Scheduled date and time were confirmed and the work that was done was outstanding. Very satisfied with NW Painting & Handyman Services, highly recommend.
Interior Doors Maintenance. Excellent Work Product
We could not be happier with the work we had done with NW Painting / Wright-way Construction. Quality workmanship and great communication - they really worked with us and provided great ideas! Our new floors look amazing and the newly opened up hallway creates much better flow to our kitchen and a lot more light....plus we can now see through to our lake when we opened our front door. We highly recommend Nick, Jen and their team and are looking forward to starting another project with them soon.
Best place for all your construction and handy man needs
NW Painting and Handyman Services recently painted my three-story old Victorian. The guys were hard working, and professional. Price was reasonable, and included repair of rotted wood. Not a small task! Can absolutely recommend them.
