Your Pool Pal is a family-owned pool contractor working out of Southern New Hampshire, run by an owner named Brian, and the reviews on file — five of them, spanning 2014 to 2024 — point to in-ground pool work as its strength. In a 2024 review, a customer whose in-ground pool Brian installed back in 2008 said he still picks up the phone and gives advice 16 years later; a 2016 review described him as knowledgeable, hard-working and honest when discussing a new in-ground pool. The Better Business Bureau lists the company as A+-rated and accredited for in-ground pool sales, installation, liner replacement and safety covers, and Houzz describes a similar range of services — openings, closings, filtration systems, and accessories like slides and lighting. There's a real split worth knowing about. Two 2018 reviews — the same complaint posted on both BuildZoom and Houzz — specifically warn against hiring the company for an above-ground pool, calling the experience bad despite Brian being personable. Nothing else on file touches on above-ground work, so it reads as a specific, dated warning about one type of job rather than a pattern across the business. Separately, BuildZoom's own directory shows no active license on file for the company and lists its status as unable to verify — that's BuildZoom's own listing, not an independent check, but it's worth asking about directly. With only a handful of reviews spanning a decade, there isn't a large sample to draw on. For an in-ground pool installation or ongoing liner, cover, and filtration work, the available accounts are positive and specific; for an above-ground pool, it's worth asking pointed questions given the one clear warning on file.
Pool Pay installed our in ground pool in 2008, 16 years later, I just got off the phone with the owner, Brian. Quick call to get some advice from him, he's always been there for us!
Stay away from him if you're thinking of putting in an above ground pool. Brian is not your Pool Pal, Or any kind of Pal. He is charming, but that doesn't make him a good above ground pool provider.

I had a good feeling from the first time we met with Brian to discuss putting in an in ground pool. He seemed knowledgeable, hard working and most importantly honest!
This is a letter of recommendations from Mike Desmond who worked many of years for a well-known New Hampshire based pool distributor “The Pool Depot”
