Old porches. That is what this Westfield outfit keeps getting called for — houses well past their hundredth birthday, rot in the peaks, railings that have to come apart and go back looking untouched. The customers name one man over and over, Jim. The company says it has been family-owned since 2005, working Western Massachusetts and Northern Connecticut. Google shows 5.0 across 18 ratings, and the recent ones fit the pattern. One customer with a 125-year-old home has used them for several projects, including redoing a second-floor porch and a concrete job to widen the driveway and repair the front walk; they collected several quotes and this one came in the most reasonable. Another describes an estimate confident enough that they stopped shopping — Jim gave the price, a carpenter named Ado did the work. The longer run of reviews is the same story at more length: period restoration on Victorians and turn-of-the-century houses, replica millwork, porch structures, siding and doors, with customers coming back for a second and third job. Ordinary work sits alongside it — painting, roofs, floors, drainage — usually for people they had already worked for. Two things to settle before signing. The company says it is licensed and insured in Massachusetts and Connecticut and shows an 'MA & CT Certified' badge, but publishes no licence or registration number anywhere on its site; for the additions, structural porch work and remodels described here, Massachusetts home improvement contractor registration applies, so ask for the number and check it against the state register yourself. Second, the marketing is looser than the work: the site claims 500-plus projects in one place and thousands in another, describes its Google rating as spanning dozens of verified reviews when there are 18, and lists service areas reaching Worcester, Cambridge and Bridgeport, well outside the Western Massachusetts region it otherwise claims. None of that is contradicted by what customers describe — it is the copy running ahead of the company. The right call for restoration on an older Western Massachusetts house, where new work has to match what is already standing. Get the registration number and a written scope before anyone starts.

We’ve used Jim & his team at 3D Home Improvements for several projects on our 125 year old home including a redoing the 2nd floor outdoor porch & a big concrete project to expand our driveway and repair the sidewalk leading up to our front porch. We got several quotes his was by far the most reasonable and we could tell he was invested in doing a good job and enhancing the beauty of our old home. We have recommended him to friends and family and will continue to work with him in the future.

What a great company this is! Right from the start when we received the estimate we got the sense that this was a quality company with quality people. We didn't even seek any more estimates, we knew we had the right guys. It was only a small job that we had done, but they got to it quickly. Jim, who gave the estimate and Ado, who did the work, answered all our questions and did a fantastic, creative job. Can't wait to use them again, and tell others about our good fortune in finding them.👍

We have had work done on our 130 year old Victorian by 3D Home Improvements two different times this past year. They repaired our front porch by lifting one end, repaired the railings, and replaced the tongue and groove ceiling. They then replaced the moldings around both of our garage doors, and repaired three of our peaks that had rotted over the years. All of these projects went very well. Good communication, and great workmanship. We have plans to have them do more work on our house.
