A.C. Masonry, Landscape & Construction is a small family-owned masonry and landscaping company on Hermon Street in Brockton, run by Ramoncito Cordero with Angela Cordero managing the office. The Better Business Bureau lists it as a sole proprietorship started in 2013 with two employees, not BBB accredited but carrying an A+ grade, and the company describes itself as offering brick and stone masonry, paver and concrete patios, retaining walls, lawn maintenance, plantings, fencing and hardscape, working Monday through Saturday and taking cash and checks. The written record runs from 2018 to 2023 and leans toward step, wall and hardscape repair. A 2021 Angi reviewer had concrete steps on a hundred-year-old house rebuilt with granite treads, a 2019 reviewer's 1940s brick-and-flagstone stairs came back looking new, and another 2019 customer had a stone wall from the 1800s repaired, going from bid to completion in a matter of weeks on time and on budget. Houzz reviewers from 2020 describe a patio and fire pit, a very large sunken stone fire pit rebuilt on budget, a walkway and a porch fence, plus a fence about to collapse onto a neighbor's yard that no fence company would take on; a 2023 Houzz reviewer had a stucco wall taken apart, reframed with treated wood, cemented and painted in custom colors. Fall clean-ups and gutter work show up in 2018 reviews, one noting the crew works mostly with rakes rather than heavy equipment. Reviewers repeatedly name Angela's communication and Ramon's workmanship, and one 2019 customer said that after an accident damaged their property the owner came out immediately, took full responsibility and covered it through liability insurance. When a 2019 customer asked about cracks in new cement steps, the crew came back and redid the work. There are real things to ask about. Angi and HomeAdvisor show 4.4 stars from 26 reviews with 8 percent at two stars, and a November 2022 reviewer said the company changed terms after agreeing to a contract and needs to honor what it signs. Thumbtack shows 2.4 stars from 5 ratings. Both Angi and HomeAdvisor currently display a "This pro is under review" banner on the profile. A 2020 reviewer thought the quote ran a little high, and the company's own pages disagree with each other on its history, claiming 7-plus, more than 10 and 18 years of experience in different places, while its Houzz profile lists a BBB accreditation the BBB page itself says it does not hold. For step and stone-wall repair, small patios and fire pits, or seasonal yard clean-ups around Brockton and the South Shore, A.C. Masonry has a track record of careful work and standing behind it. Get the scope and price in a written contract, ask what the under-review status on Angi is about, and check a recent reference, since the newest public review is from 2023.
A.C. Masonry came and took apart our old stucco wall, replaced the inside with water treated wood and cemented the outside. They then painted the wall with the colors we wanted. It was a wall with a couple different colors as it has number and letters and a crayon on top of it. They did a great job.
You have to be more responsible. Once you agree to a contract you have to honor the contract and do not change anything later on.
The crew took on a difficult job, repairing concrete steps to a hundred-year-old house. We wanted granite treads with the new concrete and mortar. They accepted the challenge and did a great job.
Had great communication with Angela. They did the job perfectly, only thing I thought that quote was a little high but I don't do this type of work.
After months of unsuccessful attempts to get the fence company that installed my fence or any local fence company to come in and repair section that were about to collapse onto my neighbors property. AC Masonry worked on a project last test snd they did a first rate job, so I turned to them and they came down determined what they needed to do to fix the failing sections. I asked them to inspect other problem areas. They provided a quote which was very reasonable, They sent a crew and the project was completed on time and on budget. In fact they provided additional service at no additional charge. I found them to be a contractor I can depend on for emergency and planned projects. I have no reservation in using their services of in recommending them.
