One hundred and fourteen ratings on Thumbtack, 99% of them five stars, and the Top Pro badge every year since 2021 — A to Z Masonry Construction has been quietly stacking up fence and hardscape jobs out of Lowell. Alvaro Neto runs it; the company says it has been at this eight years with a crew of four, and it has booked 130 jobs through Thumbtack alone. The work splits cleanly in two: fences — vinyl, chain link, privacy — and the masonry the crew builds on the ground, patios, walkways and retaining walls. In May a homeowner hired them for a stone patio and a stepping-stone walkway and said it came in ahead of the promised date at a price he thought fair, with his questions answered patiently along the way. Speed, tidiness and low quotes are what the longer history keeps returning to as well. Two things about those reviews are worth knowing before you call. Nearly all the depth sits on one platform: the Angi and HomeAdvisor pages each show a 5.0, but from the same two fence installs in 2023, so that is one small record printed twice rather than two sources agreeing. The service list is also wide for a four-person outfit. Masonry and fencing sit alongside concrete work, interior and exterior painting, mulching, tree trimming and stump grinding, pressure washing and snow plowing — worth asking which of those Alvaro's own crew handles and which get handed off. The company lists free estimates and warranties, and Spanish is spoken. For a fence or a patio done quickly and priced tight around Lowell, this is a straightforward call: the volume behind that 5.0 is real, not three reviews and a logo. Get the warranty terms in writing and pin the completion date down in the contract, since finishing early is the thing customers keep hiring them for.

We hired Alvaro for a stone patio and a walkway with stepping stones, and he did a great job. He was very responsive, answered all our questions patiently, and gave us a good price for the work. He finished the project faster than promised, and the quality was excellent. Everything turned out exactly the way we wanted. We are very happy with the final result and would definitely recommend him. Details: completely new masonry project, patio or porch, residential (Masonry Construction Services; hired on Thumbtack).

I'm absolutely thrilled with the fence that was recently installed around my house—it looks beautiful and truly elevates the entire property. The craftsmanship has clean lines, sturdy construction, and attention to detail that makes it clear the work was done with care and professionalism. It complements the house perfectly and adds both privacy and curb appeal. Even better, the project was completed at a very reasonable price. From start to finish, the work was well done and efficient. Details: install a new fence or gate, vinyl, 100-150 feet, 7 feet (Fence and Gate Installation; hired on Thumbtack).

A to Z Masonry Construction — and especially Alvaro — did an absolutely outstanding job installing my privacy fence and chain-link fence. From the very beginning, Alvaro was professional, knowledgeable, and incredibly easy to work with. He took the time to answer my questions, explained the entire process clearly, and made sure every detail was done perfectly. The privacy fence is solid, beautifully aligned, and gives my yard exactly the look and security I wanted. The chain-link fence is sturdy, clean, and professionally installed. Alvaro and his team worked efficiently, kept everything neat, and treated my property with care and respect. Details: install a new fence or gate, chain link, 100-150 feet, 6 feet (Fence and Gate Installation; hired on Thumbtack).

The owner is very knowledgeable and knows what he does. The price is very fair, almost the lowest quote for natural retaining wall. His job is great from the picture. Details: replace or remodel existing structure, wall, residential (Masonry Construction Services; hired on Thumbtack).

A to Z Masonry is a company you can trust with your vision/project. I was given the opportunity to carefully explain what I wanted. He wrote everything down and explained pros and cons. The work was completed with precision, speed, and neatness. Pricing was reasonable and affordable. The yard was cleaned up nicely after the job was complete. Thank you A to Z. Will reach out concerning all my projects for my home! Details: install a new fence or gate, vinyl, 100-150 feet, 6 feet (Fence and Gate Installation; hired on Thumbtack).
