Affordable Painting Services

Affordable Painting Services is James Brent's painting company, and customers have been naming James in reviews from a 2015 whole-interior job to rooms painted in September 2026. Reviewers in 2022 and 2023 call him the owner, and one 2022 customer wrote that he "was present and managed the project each day." The company says it has been in business 25 years and lists a service area that includes Cheshire, Branford, Guilford, Hamden, Madison, Meriden, Middletown, Milford, Naugatuck and New Haven. It holds a 4.9 from 54 ratings on Google and a 5.0 from 39 ratings on both HomeAdvisor and Angi. A September 2026 reviewer had several rooms painted and wrote that "the lines and edges were crisp"; a June 2026 customer called James and his team "reliable, thorough, communicative." In a December 2024 review, a customer who keeps birds said James got special paint without fumes for them, and a January 2024 reviewer had a six-room interior done. A March 2025 customer had three bookcase cabinets painted. In a 2022 review, wallpaper was stripped from three rooms of a 1930s colonial before the walls and ceiling were painted. Exterior jobs show up too: a July 2022 customer had a 4,700-plus square foot exterior and a deck stained, and an October 2023 reviewer said the crew was "meticulous with preparation" and patient with a last-minute color change. A 2016 reviewer wrote that James reduced the agreed price when some of the work took less time than expected. Two complaints are recent. In a January 2026 Google review, a customer who hired James to paint the interior of an empty, newly purchased home said they were told Benjamin Moore paint would be used but saw Sherman Williams paint, that the job was less than half done after the promised two weeks, and that there were paint hand prints on a new refrigerator; the customer let him go and spent a day cleaning up. A July 2026 Google reviewer called the company "very bad at dealing with customers" and said they were called a scammer after asking for assistance. Its Connecticut home improvement contractor registration, HIC.0633950, is active under Affordable Painting Services. Its Better Business Bureau grade is an A+.
