Alfio LoFaro Masonry is a one-man masonry and home-improvement business in Lawrence, Massachusetts, trading as Lofaro Masonry and Custom Baths, LLC. Its own site says Alfio Lofaro has been doing this since 2001, and the Better Business Bureau records the business as started on 1 January 2001 with Mr Lofaro as owner and sole employee.
The work splits in two. Inside, it does complete bathroom renovations, tile showers, tub surrounds and stone, tile, marble, hardwood and granite flooring. It states it serves residential and commercial clients across the Merrimack Valley, Essex County, Middlesex County and southern New Hampshire, and offers free estimates.
The credential that carries most weight here is Better Business Bureau accreditation, held since 23 June 2015, alongside an A+ grade — and it is worth knowing that the BBB states plainly that customer reviews are not used in calculating that letter grade, so the two are separate facts.
The customer record is small and largely undated. Google publishes a 5-star average from just two ratings, the only dated review being a one-line 2018 entry. The three review excerpts on the BBB profile all describe front-step, stair and walkway work in granite, brick and stone and praise the precision of the workmanship, but the profile publishes no dates and no star values for them and truncates each body, so they support the general picture rather than any particular job. Separately, a neighbour on Nextdoor in May 2026 answered a Wilmington resident looking for a natural-stone tiler by posting this firm's name and number.
Before booking, ask about two things. No licence or registration number appears anywhere — not on the company's site, not on its BBB profile — so request the Home Improvement Contractor registration and check it with the Commonwealth. And note that although the business dates itself to 2001, the LLC was only incorporated on 25 August 2025, so confirm which entity your contract is with.
This is the right call for granite and brick steps, walkways, patios and retaining walls in the Merrimack Valley, done by the owner himself, and a stretch for anyone needing a large crew or a fast schedule from a one-person shop.
