Alfred W. Ivan Painting and Power Washing is a painting and power-washing company that, on its HomeAdvisor profile, says it has served New Haven County and the surrounding areas since 1991 under owner Alfred Ivan. On its BBB page it describes painting, power washing and wallpapering, plus deck cleaning, staining and resealing. It holds 4.8 stars from 240 ratings on HomeAdvisor. A 2019 Angi customer said they hired Alfred to paint the whole interior of their home, including ceilings, walls, trim and bathroom cabinets, and that his price was about 40% less than their other estimate. In a 2014 review, a customer with plaster walls said they gave some rooms 4-5 coats until the coverage was uniform, at no extra cost. A 2019 HomeAdvisor customer said they painted a whole condo in four days without getting paint on the wood floors, and that when the baseboard trim fell short, Fred had the crew come back right away. Power washing is the other half of the name. A 2023 HomeAdvisor customer said they hired Fred's company to power wash the house and that his team got rid of the mold and spots on the siding. A 2016 Angi customer said the estimate came on a Sunday, the deck was power-washed and prepped on Monday, painted on Wednesday and touched up on Thursday. A 2010 customer moving into a foreclosure said Alfred's team worked on the mouldings about 5 times, patching, sanding and painting, and that Alfred brought in a carpenter who replaced all the doors at a lower cost than any quote they had gotten. That 2010 customer also said the doors expanded and got a little sticky during the summer. A 2024 HomeAdvisor customer said the crew was polite and quick but painted over all of the wall mollies, leaving that customer to recreate where wall-mounted items had been placed. A 2025 Angi customer said they came out quickly and were reasonably priced. Connecticut lists its home improvement contractor registration, HIC.0613214, as active, held by Alfred W Ivan Painting Inc.
