Read enough of Alliance Express's 846 Google ratings — they average 4.7 — and a pattern shows up fast: most of them are about a phone call. Claudia, Rita, Monica, Veronique, Barbara, Jessica. Customers name the person who walked them through a capped-price oil contract or a budget plan, and that is what they came back to write about. The Chelsea company delivers home heating oil and services the equipment behind it. Its Better Business Bureau page, where it is accredited and carries an A+, lists fuel oil alongside heating and air-conditioning contracting: furnaces, boilers, heat pumps, water heaters and fuel storage tanks. Reviewers sometimes write about it as HOP Energy. When the heat actually goes out, the accounts get more concrete. A homeowner writing in early 2025 lost heat and had a repair technician at the house within two and a half hours. Another, in a September 2025 review, walked through an annual tune-up with a technician named Felipe — everything checked, questions answered, the site cleaned up. In a January 2026 review a driver filled a tank even though the path to the fill pipe hadn't been shoveled yet. The complaints are worth reading before signing anything, and they cluster on money and on deliveries rather than on the repair work. A November 2025 customer of thirty years said they were billed $5.40 a gallon when the Massachusetts average was $3.78. A December 2025 reviewer said a driver pumped into an already-full tank, causing a small leak, and was then told the equipment needed replacing; a January 2025 reviewer described the same shape of problem — an overfilled, over-pressurized tank leaking at the pipes. Another, in December 2025, described paying $13,900 toward a boiler while fighting for weeks to be added to a parent's account. And in a March 2025 review a customer found out only by chance that their contracted gallons had run out and the next delivery would land at retail. Reaching a human has been its own complaint. A February 2026 reviewer called the customer service department impossible to contact with a near-empty tank in frigid weather; a year earlier another wrote that an emergency call was met with an account-setup requirement and two days without heat. The last six months of reviews, though, run positive. The written history is deep — 382 reviews since 2021 across six sources — but it leans toward the service desk more than the wrench. If you want a full-service oil company with contracts, automatic delivery and someone who picks up the phone about them, this is a reasonable call. Before committing, pin down the per-gallon rate, ask how you'll be told when your contracted gallons run out, and confirm what happens to a delivery when the tank is already near full.
