The credential picture is unusually clean for a company this size: the Massachusetts registry verifies Home Improvement Contractor registration 182581 as active, held of record by ALMAR LLC — the business itself, not a different entity. BBB grades the file A+, though the same page states plainly that Almar is not a BBB-accredited business; those are two separate facts, and the A+ is BBB's own grade rather than a customer verdict.
Customer feedback is real but very thin: two Google reviews, both from 2024, both five stars. In a July 2024 review a homeowner said Almar had been their roofer for more than 25 years and described a full slate-roof replacement plus snow guards and new flashing on a 100-year-old roof; a May 2024 reviewer described a re-roof with a thorough inspection, a detailed written quote, crews arriving on time and a site kept clean. Public records fill in the rest of the track record — a Whitman-Hanson selectmen's bid award for roof repair at the Maquan School in 2017, a certificate of final completion for roof work filed with the City of Malden, and a window-insulation job for the East Bridgewater Housing Authority.
What is worth asking about is scope and scale. BuildZoom's listing describes Almar as a residential remodeler doing kitchens, baths and basements, but the permit history it publishes is overwhelmingly roofing and siding, and Houzz files the business under Roofing & Gutters with no reviews at all; the BBB profile meanwhile lists plumbing, electrical, excavating and HAZMAT remediation for a company it also records as having one employee. Ask directly who performs any non-roofing trade you need, and ask about tenure — a reviewer's twenty-five-year relationship does not match the 2013 business start date on file.
Almar is the right call for a homeowner in the Medfield, Natick, Needham, Wellesley, Walpole and Boston-area corridor who wants a roof, sheet-metal or ice-dam job done by a small owner-run outfit with a verified active registration. Confirm HIC 182581 with the state, get the written scope in the quote, and treat the remodeling menu as something to verify rather than assume.

Almar has been our roofer for more than 25 years. They are the best! Almar has done jobs for us ranging from a total replacement for our large slate roof, to installing snow guards and new flashing.
