Almar is a Medfield general contractor whose real trade is the roof. The company's Massachusetts home improvement contractor registration, 182581, is active on the state registry. The Better Business Bureau grades it A+, though it is not BBB accredited, and records the business as starting in April 2013 with one employee and Alexander Green as president.
What it advertises is roof replacement, inspection and repair, winter roof work including snow guards and ice dam prevention, custom architectural sheet metal fabrication, and carpentry and painting alongside. The permit record backs that up: of 20 building permits, almost all are roofing and siding — commercial roof restoration in Framingham, EPDM and TPO replacements, re-roofs in Malden, Waltham, Brookline, Cambridge, North Easton and Medfield — with one Medfield garage addition in 2022. Values run from about $10,000 to $982,000, so both a house and a commercial building are in range.
Two things to square before you call. BuildZoom's own write-up sells the company as a residential remodeler doing kitchens, baths and basements, which the permits do not bear out — go in expecting a roofer. And the service area the company publishes is MetroWest and Boston: Medfield, Natick, Framingham, Needham, Newton, Wellesley, Walpole, Norwood, Dedham and the city neighborhoods.

For a slate or metal roof, ice dam work, or a flat commercial roof around MetroWest, this is a strong call. Ask who will actually be on the roof, given the single-employee listing, and have them confirm the current registration and insurance before the first delivery lands in your driveway.
